DMK Dharmapuri Lok Sabha member, S Senthikumar has again insulted Hindu beliefs. Even before the furor over DMK MP A. Raja’s anti-Hindu comments died down, another DMK MP has staged this wanton sacrilege.

Bhoomi Pooja (earth breaking or foundation stone laying) ceremony was organized in his constituency for a Rs.50 lakh library building on behalf of the Tamil Nadu government at Athiyamankottai. In that he has reportedly kicked the sacred bricks (smeared with vermilion and turmeric paste). The arrogant MP also abused his own party cadres for conducting Bhoomi Pooja as per Hindu traditions.

According to a video that was in circulation Senthilkumar kicked the sacred bricks opposing the Hindu rituals being conducted. This resulted in a commotion with even DMK cadres objecting to the MP’s anti-Hindu and abusive behaviour. They said that it is better if the MP doesn’t come to such functions in future. The DMK MP while seated in his car can be seen abusing his people for performing Bhoomi Pooja with Hindu rituals. He had angrily told the DMK’s local leader Shanmugam to not call him for such event hence forth.

Senthil kumar  said “I also specifically said that I will not participate if there is any saffron or turmeric laced brick. But the instructions were not followed. DMK practices ‘Dravidian model’ and in this everyone must be included. Favouring one ceremony belonging to a particular religion is unfair. I can tell once or twice. Do you want me to create a ruckus every time? These wretched people!”. The DMK MP can be seen abusing as he leaves in his car.

DMK cadre from Nalampalli Panchayat said that Senthilkumar had come and kicked the sacred bricks kept for the ceremony. He noted that the MP’s behaviour was very disrespectful and that the DMK cadres condemn this behaviour. He said “we will take it up with party high command and would request not to give him second chance to contest. Locals, who have upset over his biased behavior, said “no Hindu function will commence without Bhoomi pooja which is not in other religions. We have decided to give a befitting lesson when he comes asking for votes next time”.

In July last, the same MP was the chief guest at an event to inaugurate the de-silting and renovation work of the Alapuram lake in Dharmapuri district .On seeing ongoing Bhoomi pooja for the event, he was enraged as if he were witnessing a heinous crime. He rushed to spot and asked an official if he was aware that a government function should not be held in such a manner involving prayers of only one particular religion. In a video shared on his social media, the DMK MP can be heard lashing out at a Public Works Department officer and asked him where the Christian priests and Muslim Imams are for the function.

The MP said “Sir, Do you have instructions or not that government functions should not be held like this. Are you aware or not?” he asked. Pointing to a saffron robes clad Hindu priest, the MP asked the official: “What is this? Where are the other religions?, Where is the Christian and Muslim? Invite the Church father, the Imam, invite those who do not profess any religion, the atheists, the Dravidar Kazhagam (representatives). Don’t call me to such functions any more”.

Senthilkumar also said “the DMK government is based on the Dravidian model and Chief Minister Stalin will not entertain performances of rituals related to one particular religion”. He inaugurated the lake restoration work after officials cleared pooja items in the midway.  He also forcefully evicted the Hindu pundit from the place.

It is seems, it is a part of a well-defined eco-system with a clear pattern and tool kit in place to abuse, mock, insult Hindus, their spiritual beliefs and customs only to appease Abrahamic religions for votes.
