Born on January 9, 1942, in Malvada, Gujarat, Acharya Dharmendra, son of Mahatma Ramchandra Veer Maharaj, was one of the tallest figures in the Ram Janbhoomi temple movement. He devoted his whole life to the progress of Hindi, Hindutva and Hindustan. He was a prolific speaker who was never apologetic for his fiery statements be it on Hindutva or Mahatma Gandhi. He was fearless too “Now how to be afraid of punishment, whatever I did, I did it in front of everyone. I am charge number one” he said on his involvement in the Babri demolition case.

To stop cow slaughter, he started a massive movement in 1965. He kept a 52-day fast. By 1866, he became the face of the cow protection movement and ran many public awareness campaigns in the country. His whole life was devoted to Hindi, Hindutva and Hindustan. He spent the longest time in Jaipur.

Acharya founded the Vajraang newspaper when he was just 13 years old. He has served on the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Central Guidance Board.

Due to an intestinal ailment he was admitted a month ago to the Sawai Man Singh Hospital where he breathed his last.
