Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh launched Y- 3023 Dunagiri, Project 17A frigate built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders Limited in Kolkata on July 15, 2022. P17A Frigates are follow-on class of the P17 (Shivalik Class) Frigates with improved stealth features, advanced weapons and sensors and platform management systems. Seven P17A Frigates are under various stages of construction at Mazagaon Dock Limited (MDL) and GRSE.

GOVERNMENT TO ENSURE WELFARE AND WELL-BEING OF EX-SERVICEMEN: RAKSHA RAJYA MANTRI

On July 14, 2022, Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Ajay Bhatt laid the foundation stone of ECHS Polyclinic buildings in Vikasnagar, Raiwala and Paudi Garhwal and interacted with ESMs across the state via video link. In his address, Raksha Rajya Mantri reiterated Government’s resolve to ensure all possible steps for the welfare of the ESMs. He assured that the Government will leave no stone unturned to ensure the welfare and well-being of its veteran community.

CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF’S VISIT TO BANGLADESH

General Manoj Pande, the Chief of Army Staff, visited Bangladesh from July 18th to 20th 2022 and held multiple meetings with senior officials of the security establishment and exchanged views on various defence related issues. He also paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh. The visit of the COAS will further deepen the bilateral relationships between the two Armies and act as a catalyst for closer coordination and cooperation between the two countries on a host of strategic issues.
