Yoga, is an ancient Indian technique to train the mind & body. A method to stay fit-focused & extend your life. Our Rishis have done an extensive research to bring innovative Asanas to train a body which can fight against diseases, and stay fit and healthy in any weather conditions. Over the years Yoga has travelled to several parts of the world & the world has accepted Yoga as one of the most important practices to tackle the challenges faced due to the modern lifestyle.

In 2014, India’s newly elected Prime Minister made his maiden address to United Nations in which he mentioned ‘Yoga is an invaluable gift of our ancient tradition’. His speech was widely admired and immediately, the Indian Government presented a proposal to UNGA to declare 21st June as International Yoga Day. Today, International Yoga Day will be celebrated across various cities in different countries and continents. Indian Embassy will organise various events to celebrate International Yoga Day where citizens of those countries will get a chance to connect with India’s cultural heritage.

Yoga is gaining huge popularity in Latin America where countries like Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Brazil, Honduras, Guatemala, Chile, etc are popular destinations for yoga enthusiasts. In Argentina, prisoners are encouraged to practice Yoga to overcome stress & gain physical fitness while they are behind bars.

Rishikesh, Dharamshala, Goa, Gokarna, Mysore, Pune, Kerala, and Varanasi are some of the most popular destinations in India for Yoga enthusiasts across the world. Every year thousands of tourists are attracted to these popular Yoga centres. This not only attracts tourists but also helps the world to connect with Indian culture and traditions.

Germany and India has signed several bilateral agreements to promote Ayurveda, Yoga, naturopathy & homoeopathy. According to reports from Germany, there are over 3 million yoga practitioners in Germany. Due to such bilateral agreements, trade between two countries has increased multifold. German foreign direct investment has increased in India over the years. China, which has always adopted Indian culture is also practising Yoga. According to reports, now more than 10 million Chinese are regularly practising Yoga. Several yoga studios have now popped up all over China.

India has taken yoga to the world and yoga is bringing the world to India. This beautiful journey has just begun and it will bring more wonders in upcoming years. Indian culture is widely getting accepted across the globe & the world is trying to integrate with India. Yoga is truly India’s gift to the world.
