Every year on June 21st, International Yoga Day is commemorated. The theme of this year’s worldwide yoga day is “Yoga for Humanity.” The term “yoga” derives from the Sanskrit language, and its meaning is “to unite.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi first proposed the idea of International Yoga Day during a speech to the United Nations General Assembly, and the UN subsequently declared June 21 as “International Yoga Day” by passing a resolution during one of the sessions of the General Assembly in 2014.

The International Day of Yoga’s major purpose is to spread a message of peace and harmony, raise awareness of the different benefits of yoga practice around the world, and include yoga for physical and mental fitness in order to maintain a healthy body. Yoga is a holy practice that harmonises the body, mind, soul and consciousness. Yoga assists every human being in dealing with the health issues, problems, and difficulties of everyday life. Yoga can help everyone gain a greater understanding of themselves, their life’s purpose, and their relationship with the Almighty. Everyone understands the value of including yoga in one’s daily routine in order to live a healthy and physically fit life. It maintains us not only physically fit, but also mentally and psychologically well. People nowadays, as we all know, do not have time to practise yoga or other physical activities due to their hectic lifestyles and busy schedules. They are unable to maintain a healthy level of physical activity like yoga, Pranayama, or other exercises, which contributes to the development of a variety of lifestyle problems such as obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes, all of which are common in today’s environment. If you wish to avoid these problems, make sure to incorporate yoga into your regular practice. It aids in the prevention of ailments brought on by a sedentary way of life. Furthermore, even if you already have certain conditions, yoga can help you keep them under control to a great extent. Everyone understood the value of yoga during the COVID-19 time.

During the pandemic, people turned to yoga to strengthen their immune systems and stay stress-free. Yoga is beneficial not only to your mind but also to your physical health. Yoga practitioners are healthier and happier than those who do not practise yoga. Even when practising yoga and meditation together, which helps to integrate both the body and the mind, yoga produces an inner sensation of happiness, and the mind remains cheerful throughout the day. Yoga is very beneficial for the body. By doing yoga or yoga asanas regularly, diseases do not wander around. A person doing yoga is always healthy. The practice of yoga helps in getting rid of diseases and one can be effective in balancing all things. Yoga is helpful in protecting us from serious and serious diseases. Negative thoughts and worries cause a variety of imbalances in our lifestyle, particularly in the neurological system of our bodies and, via it, in bodily function. It is the root of a wide range of illnesses and hardships. And mental well-being is built on the foundations of clarity of mind, inner freedom, satisfaction, and healthy self-confidence. Not only this, if a person is suffering from a serious illness, then yoga gives the power to fight against any disease.

Actually, doing yoga brings a lot of happiness, due to which the mind remains calm and for good sleep. It is quite good to do it every morning. Yoga in the morning can help you stay energised for the rest of the day. If you do yoga, pranayama, or other physical exercises every day, your body will become more flexible. Yoga promotes blood circulation throughout the body, allowing all of the body’s organs to function properly. Everyone wants to have a more flexible body, and yoga can help with that. Yoga not only brings a person closer to nature, but it also allows them to stay fresh, physically active, relaxed, and joyful. It also keeps you energised by reducing fatigue and dizziness in your system.

Yoga demonstrates how to achieve togetherness by breaking down religious barriers. All people, countries, races, and religious views benefit from tolerance, understanding, mutual love, support, and kindness. In order to preserve general health and remain physically fit, it is essential to incorporate physical exercise and other activities into our daily routines. Yoga begins with the preservation and respect of one’s own uniqueness. Giving, understanding, and forgiveness are qualities that define us as truly human beings. One of the methods for lowering sickness in the human body is “yoga.” Yoga is an important message for the entire world. The value of yoga in today’s world is immeasurable.
