Ever since Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair shared a video clip of BJP leader and spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s TV debate on Twitter with a twisted comment, the BJP leader has been receiving several multiple rape and death threats.

Now, AIMIM (Inquilab) leader Qavi Abbasi announced a bounty of 1 crore to any Muslim who would kill BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.

Apart from announcing a bounty on the BJP spokesperson, the AIMIM (Inquilab) leader made several derogatory comments against Hindu gods in a video which is going viral on social media.

“As you know, the punishment for insulting Prophet Muhammad is death in Islam. Whoever commits Blasphemy, we announce a bounty of ₹1 crore for killing him/her. We had earlier made a similar announcement for Waseem Rizvi,” Abbasi said in the video.

He said, “I announce a bounty of ₹1 crore for killing Nupur Sharma. I want to ask you what was age of Sita when she married Ram? She was 6. How many wives did King Dasharath have? More than 100. If we start exposing your religion, then, you will be on the road. You are a white-collar prostitute. We have your records. We know how male BJP workers are exploiting their female counterparts. She (Nupur Sharma) is a white-collar prostitute,” said Abbasi.

He added, “Whosoever brings disrepute to the honor of Prophet Muhammad, we do not leave him alive. We also don’t let go of the dead easily. This is what Islam teaches us. I am keeping a bounty of ₹1 crore on Nupur Sharma. I am a High Court advocate.”

Not only AIMIM (Inquilab) but Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) supporters have also announced a bounty of 5 million (Around 19.50 lakhs in Indian Currency) for any Muslim who would kill Nupur Sharma for allegedly committing Blasphemy.

Islamists in India have been openly threatening Nupur Sharma on social media for the alleged blasphemy.

Islamic activist Sharjeel Usmani wrote, “Nupur Sharma will be brought to justice, this day or in days to come. Hindu right won’t enjoy the impunity forever. I have only love and admiration for Mohammed Zubair for the inspiring work he does. In absolute solidarity!”

Islamist Shadab Chauhan wrote, “I saw video clip of Times Now where BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma was using derogatory remarks on our beloved prophet Muhammad (SA), we demand Delhi Police to take immediate action against her. Our prophet our hero, our ideal, our leader. We can’t tolerate it at any cost.”

Reacting to the threats, Sharma told ANI on Friday, “There is a so-called fact-checker who has started to vitiate the atmosphere by putting out a heavily edited and selected video from one of my debates last night. Ever since I’ve been receiving death and rape threats, including beheading threats against me and family members.”

She added Alt News proprietor posted an edited video to encourage trolls against her and said he should be held “responsible” if any harm befalls her family.

In a message to Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana on Friday (May 27), Sharma wrote, “I’m being bombarded with rape, death and beheading threats against my sister, mother, father & myself. I’ve communicated same to @DelhiPolice. If anything untoward happens to me or any of my family members, please note wholly & solely @zoo_bear is responsible who instead of ‘fact-checking’ peddled a fake-narrative to vitiate the atmosphere, cause communal disharmony & cause communal & targeted hatred against me & my family.”

Reacting to her message, Delhi Police said that the matter had been forwarded to officials concerned and she would be contacted soon.
