‘Media Mahamanthan’ and Media Awards 2022 to Mark 75 Years of Organiser and Panchjanya

To mark the 75 Years of Organiser and Panchjanya, the parent company of the weeklies, Bharat Prakashan (Delhi) Limited (BPDL), is organising Media Awards and Media Mahamanthan in Delhi on May 22.

The magnificent journey of nationalistic journalism of national weeklies Organiser and Panchjanya is completing 75 years. To mark the occasion, the parent company of the weeklies, Bharat Prakashan (Delhi) Limited (BPDL), is organising Media Awards and Media Mahamanthan in Delhi on May 22.

The event, where a range of intellectuals and political leaders share their ideas, will be held at Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi. A panel discussion on the Freedom of Speech will be one of the major highlights of the event.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath will confer the awards. The occasion will be graced by Himanta Biswa Sarma, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Assam; Bhupendra Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Gujarat; Jairam Thakur, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh; Manohar Lala Khattar, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Haryana; N Biren Singh, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Manipur; Pushkar Singh Dhami, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Uttarakhand and Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Goa.

A panel of Jury members (comprising eminent journalists and academicians) has been constituted to assess the entries. The decision of the Jury panel shall be final in this regard.

The awards are in nine categories for the work done in the calendar year 2021. The awards will be conferred in the following nine categories for the work done in the calendar year 2021: Hindi (Print, Digital & AV), English (Print, Digital & AV), Regional Language (Print, Digital & AV), Environment (Print, Digital & AV), Science & Technology (Print, Digital & AV), Business and Economic Journalism (Print, Digital & AV), Sports (Print, Digital & AV), Arts, Culture & Entertainment (Print, Digital & AV) and Award for Creative Campaign. The awards will celebrate the best of journalism in each category. Two special awards will be conferred in the name of Atal Bihari Vajpayee (Excellence in Hindi journalism) and K R Malkani (Excellence in English journalism).

The ‘Organiser’, one of the oldest and most widely circulated weeklies from the capital, first hit the stands in 1947, a few weeks before Partition. The weekly has been edited and enriched by eminent personalities like A.R. Nair, K.R. Malkani, L.K. Advani, and V.P. Bhatia, etc.
