Former RSS Pracharak Sreenivasan was hacked to death at Melamuri in Palakkad town on Saturday.
A group of assailants attacked Sreenivasan with swords and other weapons. The attack took place at his shop, SKS Automobiles, in Palakkad town this afternoon. Though he was rushed to the nearest hospital, he succumbed to severe injuries.
According to the eyewitnesses, there were five assailants in the group. They reached the spot in three vehicles and barged into the shop and brutally attacked Sreenivasan. He suffered multiple stab injuries on his head and limbs. An eyewitness revealed that Sreenivasan was hacked over 20 times with swords.
Sreenivasan is former Shareerik Shikshan Pramukh of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
BJP leaders said on Saturday that the PFI-SDPI was behind Sreenivasan’s murder.
Reacting to the deteriorating law and order in Kerala, BJP leader Tom Vadakkan slammed the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan-led Left government saying that they are not “fit to be the administrators of a state.”
Speaking to a news channel, Vadakkan said, “It’s become a killing field, unfortunately…Under their (the administration’s) nose an RRS worker is hacked and killed. It’s shocking. The administration has to take full responsibility.”
