Manipur sets ‘100 tasks in 100 days’ goal in the first cabinet meeting

The Cabinet has approved the ‘100 tasks in 100 days' programme to achieve various targets set before the government within the first 100 days of the new Government. Anti Corruption Cell in Chief Minister's Office will be revived and strengthened. It'll be headed by an officer of the rank of Additional SP.'

Imphal: In a landmark decision, the newly formed BJP government in Manipur has approved the ‘100 tasks in 100 days' programme in its first State Cabinet meeting held on 22 March. The Cabinet was chaired by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and attended by newly sworn-in Ministers Thongam Biswajit, Yumnam Khemchand, Govindas Konthoujam, Nemcha Kipgen and Awangbow Newmai.

According to the resolution in the meeting, the Cabinet has approved the ‘100 tasks in 100 days' programme to achieve various targets set before the government within the first 100 days of the new Government. This included policy decisions, construction works, as well as systemic improvements. 

The Cabinet also approved 5-day a week working for government offices without affecting the essential services. As agreed in the meeting, there will be an increase in the working hours in working days and change in office timings. Government offices will start from 9 am and synchronise with school timings, enable proper home management, and ease traffic congestion. School timings will also start early, at 8 am.

"The new system will improve output and productivity of government servants by providing much-needed rest and rejuvenation on weekends. It will also enable adequate time for school children to productively use afternoon hours," according to the Cabinet resolution.

The Cabinet resolved to Make Manipur Corruption Free. Anti Corruption Cell in Chief Minister's Office will be revived and strengthened. It'll be headed by an officer of the rank of Additional SP.' CM da Haisi Initiative' will be transformed as part of Anti Corruption Cell, with toll-free numbers made available for the public to send complaints. Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department will act on actionable complaints received in the Anti-Corruption Cell within a deadline. No person, including any public member, will be spared if found to be giving or taking bribe money.

The Cabinet also resolved to make Manipur drug free. A police officer of the rank of IGP will lead Anti-Narcotics Task Force. Anti-Narcotics Division will be strengthened by posting manpower of integrity. Poppy plantation areas will be identified through satellite mapping and drone surveys.

The Cabinet resolved to pursue lasting peace for the State by reaching out to various armed groups operating in the region.
