Three Hindu youths Sachin, Krishna and Sahul Jaiswal were exiting the theatre after watching The Kashmir Files when local Muslims stabbed them. They are undergoing treatment in private hospital.
In an incident which has shocked not only the local residents of Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh but the whole country, three Hindu youths were stabbed for watching the movie The Kashmir Files on Friday (March 18).
Sachin, Krishna and Sahul Jaiswal were discussing the atrocities on the Kashmiri Pandits while moving out of the theatre when the attack took place.
The trio tried to defend themselves but were overpowered by the Muslim mob. Since there were residents around, the victims were rushed to hospitals where they are undergoing treatment.
The Patherwa police, under whose jurisdiction the attack took place, have registered an FIR and launched an investigation. SHO Akhilesh Kumar Singh said that an FIR in the case was registered promptly and an investigation was launched.
He assured that teams have been formed to identify the perpetrators and they all would be arrested soon.
The Kashmir Files, a movie about the genocide of the Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley, was released in theatres globally on March 11. The movie is directed by noted director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri.
The Leftists and the Islamists have made multiple attempts to stall the production and release of the film.
Even before the movie was released in theatres, NDTV called it a propaganda movie. Leftist platform Film Companion published reviews to discredit the movie.
Reviewing the movie, Film Companion, a Leftist platform run by wife of director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Anupama Chopra, had said “The Kashmir Files is a defensive and dishonest drive into the past.”
It further added “The filmmaking in The Kashmir Files is exploitative. None of it stems from a genuine space of understanding or curiosity.”
Commenting on the review, director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri had said, “I think every victim of Kashmir Genocide, every Kashmiri Pandit, every Indian & truth seeker must read this brilliant review by Anupama Chopra’s company, who herself is a Kashmiri Hindu’s wife. Only she could have done this great service to 4000 murdered Kashmiri Hindus. Take a bow, ma’am.”
Executive Editor of TV9 Aditya Raj Kaul, who is also a terror victim, called the Film Companion’s review ‘dishonest and flawed’. In a Twitter post, he said, “Shocked to see such dishonest, flawed review of The Kashmir Files. If the ethnic cleaning of Kashmiri Hindus is narrated without any balancing act, it becomes a “vengeful act”. Why uncomfortable with calling out Islamist terror – the root cause of exodus?”
Taking the hostility against the movie to a new level, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had appealed to the people to not watch The Kashmir Files. She termed the movie a ‘conspiracy’.
