Indians must hang their heads in shame only for Junaid, Pehlu Khan, Asifa and Aqlakh because ‘Hindu lives don’t matter’

"I saw my parents being coerced to convert to Christianity by Sister Raquel Mary. My family didn’t agree. Since then, I was tortured and forced to clean toilets and office of warden. I could no longer suffer the torture and was forced to take this step,” 17-year-old M Lavanya said this in the 44 seconds viral clipping that surfaced after her death by suicide on 19 January in Tanjavur.

Tamil Nadu Police and DMK Government are quickly into damage control. Police claim, “There’s no evidence of forced conversion angle.” DMK Government sources announced, it was a case of “caste discrimination”. They’ve gathered 30 witnesses to establish “their truth”. Tamil media has almost branded Lavanya a liar. Vested interests connect a two-year-old anonymous call by a girl complaining of ill-treatment by stepmother to Lavanya’s case. They’re attacking parents as well as the person who shot that viral video. National media hadn’t even heard of Lavanya until Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai led the #JusticeForLavanya campaign. MSM response still is muted.

Gone are the good old days from 2018 when every local, national and international media cried tankers for the Kathua rape victim. Kathua was in the headlines for weeks. Wikipedia page of the Kathua case explicitly mentions “Muslim girl gang-raped and killed by Hindu men, including temple priest.” #JusticeForAsifa wasn’t just a hashtag. It was a political toolkit. A “humanist” social media user wanted “Justice for Asifa even if that means shooting those 31 per cent dead.” He meant the 31 per cent Indians who voted PM Modi in the 2014 General Elections. This call for genocide was ably justified by Thomas Isaac, the Finance Minister of Kerala,  among others.

Gone also are the days when a 27-year-old Rohith Vemula’s suicide was kept on the boil for weeks, despite his suicide letter blaming nobody in particular. Crimes in India are classified by geography. BJP ruled states, and Non-BJP ruled states. Hathras rape case from Uttar Pradesh becomes international outrage, but Alwar rape case from Rajasthan gets buried. There’s prolonged power outage in the outrage factory of the liberal world.

Asaram Bapu and Bishop Franco Mulakkal were accused of a similar crime by women subordinates. Asaram remains in jail since 2018, and Franco didn't spend even a single day in jail. The Kerala Government and a lax judiciary helped him walk free

The religion of the victim and accused matters. Life of a Hindu victim is insignificant unless there is a Dalit angle. But Dalit lives matter not if accused are minorities. Madhu, a tribal youth, was lynched by people from an influential community in February 2018 in Attappady, Kerala. The trial has dragged on without hearing because the Special Public Prosecutor saved himself as some Judges did in the West Bengal post-poll violence cases.

Indians must hang their heads in shame only for Junaid, Pehlu Khan, Asifa and Aqlakh. Kalpavriksha Giri Maharaj and Sushil Giri Maharaj were lynched by a mob with the connivance of Police in Palghar, Maharashtra. Ratan Lal, a Delhi Police Constable and Intelligence Bureau staffer Ankit Sharma were brutally murdered by Islamist mobs during Delhi Riots 2020. Kamlesh Tiwari, Vikas Yadav, Bandhu Prakash Pal, his pregnant wife and six-year-old son were murdered by Islamists. No need to feel ashamed of these victims.

Nobody knows Gangaram Chauhan lynched for complaining about abduction of his teenaged daughter by Muslims. Dhruv Tyagi was an unfortunate victim killed by Muslims for protesting against the molestation of his daughter. The religion of the victims went against them in all these cases. Secular policy means “Minorities, especially Muslims have the first rights over all the outrage of the nation.” Resources of quote borrowed from former PM Dr Manmohan Singh.

The political affiliation of victim is of paramount importance. A BJP-RSS supporter's life isn’t the same as that of a Communist. Journalist Gowri Lankesh’s murder ignited a volcano of outrage while over fifty non-Leftist journalists and BJP workers killed in Kerala, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal don’t even find a mention in footnotes of hate-crimes.

Asaram Bapu and Bishop Franco Mulakkal were accused of a similar crime by women subordinates. Asaram remains in jail since 2018, and Franco didn’t spend even a single day in jail. Compliant Kerala Government and lax judiciary helped him walk free. When the Franco trial began, Kerala Police went to Jalandhar and returned home without seeing Franco. People from Church magnanimously proclaimed, “Bishop cannot be tried under Indian laws. Decisions should be made by Vatican.” There was “stunning secular silence” from the entire liberal space.

“Law is blind”. Early verdicts in Delhi riots cases substantiate the adage. Dinesh Yadav is sentenced to jail despite lack of substantial evidence because he was present at the place of arson. Six Muslims have been released for lack of evidence around the same time. Delhi High Court had earlier claimed, “Delhi riots weren’t spontaneous but were pre-planned to create fear among Hindus and force them to leave the country.” Early verdicts suggest when it’s time for convictions, the conviction of Court has taken U-turn.

While an alleged Fascist Hindutva Government is in office, the Liberal gangs control the narrative. Thus Lavanya, Dhruv Tyagi, Gangaram Chauhan and countless Hindus become “Children of Cattle-class Gods”. Cattle-class is a derogatory term used for unreserved, third-class compartments of Indian Railways. Hindus are being harassed, driven out of their homes and butchered in different places of India. The executive looks helpless, and the judiciary is busy regulating Hindu festivals.

Attempted satire turns bitter and cold when reality frostbites into the soul of Hindus. #JusticeForLavanya is a wounded civilisation fighting for its honour. Bharat is resisting the biased “Idea of India” that berates Hindu beliefs for worshipping nature and all forms of life.
