The victim, an 8-year-old girl, was crying and begging for mercy, but Imam Jamal Ahmad did not relent. He relented only after the victim started bleeding profusely.

In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri, Imam Jamal Ahmad raped an 8-year-old girl inside the mosque on Wednesday (January 26).

The victim, wrenching in pain, was crying and begging for mercy. But Imam did not relent. He set the girl free only after she started bleeding profusely.

On the Republic Day, some students gathered in the mosque for their regular classes. After teaching for some time, Imam Ahmad asked other students to go home. He also asked the victim’s younger sister to go home early.

Imam asked the victim to stay as he wanted her to learn a few more lessons. The 8-year-old innocent victim could not understand the ill intentions of the Imam.

He took her to another room and undressed her. The girl got scared but before she could move, he forced himself on her.

The victim kept crying and begging for mercy but the Imam did not relent. He let her free only after she started bleeding profusely.

In the name of Quran, the Imam asked the victim not to reveal to anybody what had happened. He also asked her to come to mosque everyday as her absence might raise suspicion.

When the victim, wrenching in pain and soaked in blood, reached home, her parents got suspicious. The victim, who was shaking, narrated the whole ordeal.

When the parents approached the police, an FIR was lodged and investigation was launched. Imam has been arrested under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.

Mainpuri Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Rai said, “Based on the complaint of the parents, an FIR was registered. Imam Jamal Ahmad has been arrested and further investigation is on. The victim is undergoing treatment in the district hospital where her condition is stable.”

Jamal Ahmad has been working in the mosque as Imam for the past ten years. The police are also investigating if he was involved in any such act in the past.
