Recently, when PM Modi was in Varanasi for the inauguration of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, he surprised everyone by sitting among the construction and sanitation workers. PM Modi said they are the people who fight all odds to provide basic services.
In February 2019, PM Modi had washed the feet of some sanitation workers when he was on a visit to Prayagraj for Kumbh. He sent across a message about the importance of sanitation workers in the society.
