DRDO successfully flight tested Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM) on January 11, 2022. The indigenously developed anti-tank missile is a low weight, fire and forget missile and is launched from a man-portable launcher, integrated with thermal sight.
SEA TO SEA VARIANT OF BRAHMOS SUPERSONIC CRUISE MISSILE TESTED FROM INS VISAKHAPATNAM
On January 11 2022, the Advanced Sea to Sea variant of BrahMos Supersonic Cruise missile was successfully tested from INS Visakhapatnam by DRDO.
MOD SURVEYS 17.78 LAKH ACRES OF DEFENCE LAND IN A LITTLE OVER THREE YEARS
Directorate General Defence Estates, MoD commenced the Survey of about 1.61 lakh acres of defence land inside cantonments and 16.17 lakh acres outside cantonments (total 17.78 lakh acres) in October 2018 and completed it in a little over three years. It is a remarkable achievement since for the first time after independence, entire defence land has been surveyed by using latest survey technology and in a large number of pockets in association with the Revenue authorities of various State Governments. The magnitude of land holding, location of land in approximately 4,900 pockets across the country, inaccessible terrain in many places and association of various stakeholders makes this survey one of the largest land surveys in the country. n
