The newly appointed State Government Pleader at the Kerala High Court, Resmitha Ramachandran, posted disrespectful messages on social media platforms after the demise of CDS General Bipin Rawat.

In a letter to Kerala Advocate General Gopalakrishna Kurup, veterans have demanded action against government pleader at Kerala High Court Resmitha Ramachandran for posting disrespectful messages about CDS General Bipin Rawat.

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat was on his way to the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday (December 8) for a lecture when his helicopter met with an accident near Coonoor.

Apart from the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat, Brig LS Lidder, Lt Col H Singh, Wg Cdr PS Chauhan, Sqn Ldr K Singh, JWO Das, JWO Pradeep A, Hav Satpal, Nk Gursewak Singh, Nk Jitender, L/Nk Vivek and L/Nk S Teja lost their lives in the crash.

IAF Group Captain Varun Singh, the sole survivor of the IAF helicopter crash, is under treatment at the Military Hospital in Bengaluru.

A highly decorated military officer, General Rawat, took over as the CDS on December 31, 2019, after serving as the army chief for a full three-year term. He held the four-star rank for almost five years, making him the longest-serving four-star general in India.

The veterans requested the AG to "take action against her to ensure that the sacred freedom of speech and expression guaranteed by our Constitution is not abused by a person who serves at the temple of justice."

"The entire nation is mourning the death of General Bipin Rawat along with his two daughters. However, Resmitha R. Chandran, a Government Pleader at the High Court, who reports to you, has chosen to make disrespectful remarks against the late General on Facebook", the letter read.

The Verdictum reported about the contents of the letter.

It further stated, "Please note that the lady is holding a responsible position of a Government Pleader for the State of Kerala at the High Court. She is enjoying the perks and privileges of the post and is being paid out of taxpayers' money. Her remarks, made at a time when the bodies of the deceased soldiers have not even been cremated, are in a very bad taste and reflect very poorly on the entire legal team of the State Government, including on your esteemed office."

As reported by the Organiser, Islamists and vested interests have been rejoicing the unfortunate demise of CDS General Bipin Rawat.

Captain Sundaran K. and Ranganathan D, who has retired from the Indian Army, Veteran Sergeant Sanjayan S., retired from the Indian Air Force and Somasekharan CG, a Navy Veteran, are the Ex-servicemen who have written the protest letter to the Advocate General.

The last rites of General Rawat will be performed in Delhi on Friday (December 10). The mortal remains reached Delhi Thursday (December 9) evening.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval paid their respects at the Palam Air Base.
