A temple and its idols were vandalised in the Bilhaur area of Kanpur district in Uttar Pradesh on Monday (November 15). The matter came to light when devotees gathered to offer prayers in the morning.
One Vinod Katiyar, who had gone to offer prayers at the temple on the Gujepur road, found the idols of Lord Hanuman and Goddess Durga broken.
He informed the locals of the area and the police officers about the incident.
Police and district administration officials received the information and started the investigation to apprehend the culprit.
Circle Officer (CO) Rajesh Kumar said that new idols had been brought, and the installation of idols will be done with all religious rituals.
“Investigations are underway to nab the miscreants involved in vandalising idols,” IANS quoted Circle Officer Rajesh Kumar.
