The Hindutva is all-encompassing and is not Left, or Right said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarakaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale on Friday (October 22) in Delhi.
He said after the second world war, a new world order took place, and the world has been forced too much to the Left.
“The world had gone to left, or was forced to go left and now the situation is such that world is moving towards the right, so that it’s at the centre. That is what Hindutva is all about, It’s neither Left nor Right,” Shri Hosabale said.
The book “The Hindutva Paradigm” delves deeper into the Integral Humanist Philosophy of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.
Explaining the essence of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s philosophy, Shri Hosabale said, “He has tried to put the ancient Bharatiya thought in the modern context and how it should be calibrated to the future years, decades and generations.”
Describing continuity and vibrancy as the two very essential components of Bharatiyata, Shri Hosabale said, “There are no full stops in India and there is no full stop in Indian tradition. Calling it Left or Right is suitable for present day politics and geopolitics.”
Talking about the virtues of other ideologies, Shri Hosabale said that all ideas of Capitalism and Communism could not be dismissed as they have come from the human brain and experience. Some part of these ideologies will always be present.
He said, “The search for everlasting peace on this Earth will not subscribe to the Left or Right or Capitalism or Communism. It will be Integral Humanism. That is essentially Hindutva.”
Reflecting on the time-tested idea of cultural nationalism, Shri Hosabale said, “It is Cultural Nationalism that Deen Dayal Upadhyaya has presented very forcefully. The Land, the People and the Culture together make the nation.” Once you accept culture as the basis of a nation, Chiti and Virat are the natural things to recognize, he added.
Talking about the examples of the USSR and Germany, he said, “Any forceful division or unification will not sustain. That is the lesson of history.”
He explained how because of the idea of one nationhood, East and West Germany was united, and the USSR, where many states were brought together forcefully, disintegrated.
Speaking at the same event, Shri Ram Madhav, National Executive member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), said that Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya‘s Integral Humanism is a very comprehensive socio-political idea, but it could not enough attention at that time.
“No one can stop an idea when its time has come. Pt. Deen Dayal’s Integral Humanist Philosophy’s time has come”, he said.
Explaining the idea behind writing the book, Shri Madhav said there is a lot of confusion about Hindutva and people are out to dismantle it even without understanding it. This book is an attempt to contribute towards the understanding of the whole concept.
Contrary to the popular perception of being anti-West, Shri Madhav added, it is a non-Western world view.
He said, “In the post-Covid world, a new world order will emerge. We should contribute our own wisdom to the entire pool of wisdom.”
Talking about the western world view, Shri Hosabale said, “The Western world view has not only its world view, it has cast aspersions on the oriental view that you are not modern enough.”
Former Supreme Court judge Justice Anil Dave profusely praised the book. Quoting Francis Bacon’s quote, “Some books should be tasted, some devoured, but only a few should be chewed and digested thoroughly”, Justice Dave said, “It was one such book. It gives history of almost 150 years.”
Explaining the relevance and essence of Hindutva, Shri Hosabale said, “Today the world is each others ideas. This is the essence of Hindutva. We have to take the best of everything, from every corner and mould it to our surroundings, our environment, our life and our immediate needs.”
Author and former Member of Parliament, Pavan Varma congratulated Shri Ram Madhav for “mainstreaming a thought process which was not discussed much”.
Talking about Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Shri Varma said that Upadhyaya emphasized that civilizational ethos must reflect in the pursuit of modernity.
The Sarakaryavah reminded the audiences that “High priest of Secularism” Jawaharlal Nehru and socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia had talked about the great Bharatiya heritage.
Referring to the CJI NV Ramana’s recent comment that the current Indian judicial system was not suited to the Indian land and its people, Shri Hosabale said, “Unless our minds and governments, our systems and societies, our education and our political systems are liberated, we will not be achieving full freedom. This is what non-Western world view indicate us to do.”
