The Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday (October 10) arrested Md Razzak, who had hacked Poojari Kripal Das to death in Etah district on Friday (October 8) night.
Razzak used to visit the temple frequently. Recently, he had started demanding money for consuming alcohol. Poojari Kripal Das had refused to give him money for consuming alcohol.
The fight escalated. In a Bhagawat Katha recently, Razzak had misbehaved with the devotees who had gathered to listen to the Katha.
Poojari Kripal Das scolded him and asked him to leave the place immediately.
On Friday (October 8) night, when Poojari Kripal Das was sleeping on the temple rooftop, Razzak hacked him to death.
Poojari Kripal Das was recently given charge of pooja at the Shiv temple in Nagla Jagroop.
