Government has appointed Air Marshal VR Chaudhari, PVSM, AVSM, VM as the next Chief of Air Staff after the retirement of Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC on September 30, 2021. Air Marshal VR Chaudhari was commissioned into the fighter stream of IAF on December 29, 1982 and has held various Command, Staff and Instructional appointments at various levels including the present one as Vice Chief of Air Staff.
INDO-NEPAL JOINT MILITARY TRAINING EXERCISE
The 15th India-Nepal combined battalion level military training exercise ‘Surya Kiran’ commenced at Pithoragarh on September 20, 2021 and will continue till October 3, 2021. During the exercise, an infantry battalion each from the Indian Army and the Nepali Army will be training together to develop inter-operability and share their experience of counter terrorism operations and disaster relief operations.
IAF PARTICIPATES IN AN AIR SHOW AT CHANDIGARH
On September 22, 2021, the IAF participated in an air show organised towards Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations at the Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh. The event was marked by aerial displays by Chinook and Rafale aircraft, demonstration by Garud Commandos and a performance by the IAF Band.
