Setting up new benchmarks in administering vaccine doses shows India is no longer a developing country with poor rural infrastructure and an inadequate public health system but a country with up to the mark rural infrastructure and a technologically driven public health system.

India started its vaccination drive in January 2021 with the aim of free vaccination for all. The largest vaccination drive has now become a global focal point since India administered over 65 crore vaccine doses on 31st August, which was over five crores more than the target set by the government of India. It shows that India is no longer a developing country with poor rural infrastructure and an inadequate public health system, but a country with up to the mark rural infrastructure and a technologically driven public health system.

Setting up new benchmarks as India achieves the milestone of administering 70 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses by the end of 7th August 2021 states that India's vaccination drive is incredibly actionable and accurate. Out of 70 crore doses administered, 54.05 crores are first doses, and 16.5 crores are the second doses of the vaccine.

As India touches the mark of 70 crore doses, it has consecutively broken its own record for reducing the number of days per every ten crore doses. In the initial days, the pace to administer the first ten crore doses was 85 days, 10 to 20 crore was 45 days, 20 to 30 crore was 29 days, 30 to 40 crore was 24 days, 40 to 50 crore was 20 days, 50 to 60 crore was 19 days, and 60 to 70 was just 13 days.

Administering ten crore doses in the record time of 13 days is equal to administering a single dose to countries like UAE, Hungary, Tajikistan, Austria, Belarus, Israel, Switzerland, etc., in just 13 days or less. This sets an average of 76,92,307 doses per day, equal to administering a single dose to countries like Mauritius, Cyprus, Bahrain, Qatar and Luxembourg in just a single day. If we take an average of the per day vaccination pace of the latest 13 days, then 3,20,512 vaccine doses have been administered per hour, equal to vaccinating countries like the British Virgin Islands, Caribbean Netherlands in just one hour. This means it has an average of administering 5341 doses per minute, which is equal to vaccinating countries like the Falkland Islands and Niue both together in just 1 minute.

Tough terrains, harsh weather conditions, malicious propaganda could not defeat the diligent efforts of our health workers who are determined, dedicated, under which also lies the precise planning and execution of the Modi government and the vaccine manufacturing companies. This track record proves that New India is not in a mood to look back but eager to achieve new milestones that showcase the standards of New India to the world.
