Last rites of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Singh were performed with full State honours at Naraora Ghat in Bulandshahar district this afternoon.
Several Union Ministers including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other leaders were present during the last rites ceremony.
UP government has declared holiday in the state as a mark of respect for the departed leader.
Kalyan Singh breathed his last on Saturday in a Lucknow hospital after long illness.
The State Government has announced that the road leading to Ram Janmbhoomi in Ayodhya will be named after Kalyan Singh.
Besides Ayodhya, one road each in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Bulandshahr and Aligarh will be also named after him.
