Kabul has fallen to the Taliban. The Taliban terrorists have surrounded the capital Kabul and Taliban leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar is in the Presidential Palace to demand transfer of power.
Tolo News quoted acting Interior Minister Abdul Sattar Mirzakwal “Kabul will not be attacked and that the transition will happen peacefully.”
“Taliban asks foreigners in Afghanistan to leave or register their presence with the militants. Urges women to move to protected areas”, reported Disclose TV.
Meanwhile, President Ashraf Ghani, who is inside the Palace in Kabul, issued a statement saying the safety of the residents of Kabul would be the top priority.
It is expected President Ghani may resign anytime now and Mullah Baradar will be the new president or the head of the Islamic Emirate, as Taliban calls it.
The additional US troops are already in Kabul for the safe evacuation of the Embassy staff.
