In yet another incident of Muslim appeasement politics, the Kerala government has relaxed the COVID restrictions imposed in the state for allowing the Muslims to celebrate Bakrid Qurbani. Kerala is a hotbed for COVID cases with the state recording 13,000 COVID cases per day on average, contributing more than 30% of national cases being reported.
Uttrakhand’s daily average for new covid cases is just 48 and yet they cancelled the Kanwar Yatra fearing the possibility of a COVID third wave. The decision was taken by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami following a meeting with senior State officials.
Kerala is going through a massive crisis with respect to the COVID crisis. The state is continuously reporting more than 10% TPR rate and a various variant of the COVID virus has been found in the state. In such a situation, the state government going ahead with appeasement politics has triggered a fresh crisis in Kerala, with the health experts warning of a sharp increase in the cases once the restrictions are lifted.
