The Nigerian government debuted on Indian social media platform Koo on Wednesday. Nigeria banned Twitter last Friday after the social media platform removed a tweet by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Koo was launched in Nigeria on Monday.

Koo CEO Aprameya Radhakrishna kooed, “Koo is available in Nigeria. We’re thinking of enabling the local languages there too. What say?”

In another Koo message, he wrote, “The official handle of the government of Nigeria is now on Koo.”

After banning Twitter, the Nigerian government insisted that they would not compromise with the sovereignty of Nigeria.

In the deleted tweet, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari had threatened secessionists about the consequences of carrying out violent activities targeting government properties and personnel.
