Senior Congress leader and health minister in the Rajasthan government, Dr. Raghu Sharma said action would be taken against Dainik Bhaskar journalists who exposed the Covid-19 vaccine wastage in the state.
Dainik Bhaskar has run a series exposing how doses of vaccines were wasted in Rajasthan.
More than 2500 doses were found in dustbins at the vaccination centres.
More doses were found buried under the ground.
Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan wrote to the Rajasthan health minister enquiring about the wastage of vaccine doses.
Rajasthan Patrika also ran stories describing how vaccines were being wasted in the state.
Health Minister Raghu Sharma tweeted, “ऐसी झूठी अफवाह फैलाने एवं स्वयं की गलत पहचान बताने के लिए संबंधित व्यक्ति पर कार्रवाई की जाएगी। स्वास्थ्य विभाग ने उक्त अखबार के प्रबंधन को अपनी विस्तृत जांच रिपोर्ट उपलब्ध करवाकर उचित कार्रवाई के लिए अवगत कराया है।” (Journalists did not tell their real identities and wrote misleading reports. Action would be taken against these people. The health department has also asked the management of Dainik Bhaskar to take action against these journalists.)
