In a blatant disregard of the cultural and spiritual tradition of the Hindu Nath Sampradaya, Seema Mustafa-led Editors Guild used Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s biological birth name in an official communique.
Yogi Adityanath was born in Uttarakhand as Ajay Mohan Bisht. He renunciated his biological family in 1993 at the age of 21.
He adopted the Nath Sampradaya in Gorakhpur and got a new name Adityanath.
In all his official documents his name is Adityanath s/o Mahant Avaidyanath.
As per the customs and traditions of the Nath Sampradaya, Yogi Adityanath has a new birth and a new identity.
He has been a consecutive five term member of Lok Sabha since 1998. The Lok Sabha official records show his name as Shri Yogi Adityanath s/o Late Mahant Avaidyanath.
In Nath Sampradaya, once a disciple has got a new identity, his biological identity is left behind.
On April 26, Mustafa-led Editors Guild released a press statement urging the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to provide better medical treatment to PFI-affiliated journalist Siddique Kappan.
The press release noted “The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Ajay Mohan Bisht…”
The official press releases and communiques are supposed to use official names and designations.
