Despite the best efforts of Priyanka Vadra and Rahul Gandhi, there seems to be no end in sight to Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and MLA Navjot Singh Sidhu fighting in Punjab.

Cabinet minister in Punjab government and close confidant of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, Sunder Sham Arora Thursday criticised Navjot Singh Sidhu for continuously attacking the chief minister and the state government.

Sidhu had resigned from the state cabinet in July 2019 after Chief Minister Amarinder Singh stripped some portfolios from him.

Singh had said Sidhu’s non-performance had cost him 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Attempts were made for the patch-up between the two. But it didn’t bear fruit.

With sudden flurry of activities in Singh’s bastion Patiala, Sidhu has again angered Singh.

Sidhu and his wife Navjot Kaur recently inaugurated an office in Patiala. He has also been attacking the chief minister for going slow in the 2015 Faridkot case of burning of religious text.

Earlier, Singh had announced that he would quit active politics after completing his current term in office. It was believed that it signalled Sidhu that he could be the next chief minister.

But, Singh now going back on his announcement, Sidhu sees no hope of being a chief minister any time soon.
