RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat today inaugurated an art and cultural centre, titled Kala Sankul at Sanskar Bharti campus on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg in New Delhi. The Kala Sankul is spread over three floors. The complex consists of a multipurpose hall on the ground floor, an art gallery on the first floor, and offices on the second floor.

The library will have books related to art, culture and literature, while the multipurpose hall (with a seating capacity of 60) will be used for holding art events.

Vasudev Kamat, famous artist and National President of Sanskar Bharati welcomed all to the ceremony while its organising Secretary Ameer Chand explained the concept behind the Kala Sankul. Sonal Mansingh, Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Baba Yogendra and Dr Narendra Kohli were present on the stage.

RSS Sarsanghachalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat in his inaugural address said that global introspection is going on to find an alternative to individualism and collectivism. He also added that in search of happiness everyone is running behind the temporal things, Indian art and culture takes us to eternal happiness – eternal truth that connects everything within and outside. “This Kala Sankul is a Sadhan, an instrument to nurture this sense of national duty through performing arts,” he said.

“Through artistic expression, even complex thoughts can touch the heart easily, which is not possible through mere intellectual discourses. Bharat has a destined role to play at the global level and performing arts can be an important instrument in realising the same by awakening that senses among the masses. Sanskar Bharati came into existence for that objective. While getting a permanent place is a matter of joy, attaining the ultimate objective by organising artist for a national cause is the real goal, which should be forgotten in this favourable atmosphere,” Dr Mohan Bhagwat said.

“British systematically tried to finish the Gurukul system but still the values remained in the field of art and culture,” Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat said. “Bharat ki kala not merely entertainment. Omkar is the beginning of it. To understand the philosophy of Sadhana, expression of Satyam, Shivam and Sundaram,” he added.

Earlier the program was supposed to take place at Vigyan Bhawan. Due to COVID related restrictions, this programme with the presence of 100 people is being live-streamed. Arghya – a volume dedicated to the history of Sanskar Bharati released on the occasion.

Baba Yogendra, the patron of Sanskar Bharati, gave his blessings on the occasion. He said, “At the age of 98, it is a great occasion for in my life. This is happening on the occasion of 75 yrs of independence is all the more important.”

Senior RSS Karyakartas Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, Shri Bhaiyya Joshi, Shri Manmohan Vaidya, Shri Arun Kumar, Bauddhik Pramukh Shri Swant Ranjan were present during the inaugural ceremony. Renowned artists Wasifuddin Dagar, Malini Bhattacharya and Anup Jalota, performed in the function.
