The last rites of the chief administrator of the spiritual movement Brahma Kumaris, Dadi Gulzaar aka Hridaya Mohini, was performed today in Rajasthan.
Dadi Gulzaar, 92, passed away in Mumbai on Thursday. She was undergoing treatment in Saifee Hospital in Mumbai for about a fortnight.
Her mortal remains were brought to the organisation’s headquarter at Mount Abu in Rajasthan.
She was associated with the movement since its very inception in 1936. She was only eight years old at the time.
The movement was started in 1936 by Dada Lekhraj in Hyderabad, Sindh (present day Pakistan).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled her death. He tweeted “Rajyogini Dadi Hriday Mohini Ji will be remembered for her numerous efforts to alleviate human suffering and further societal empowerment. She played a pivotal role in spreading the positive message of the Brahma Kumaris family globally. Anguished by her passing away. Om Shanti.”
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and other dignitaries also condoled her death. He tweeted, “My heartfelt condolences at the passing away of Rajyogini Dadi Hridaya Mohini Ji, the Chief of Brahma Kumaris. She devoted herself to the service of humanity and inspired people towards the spiritual path. My thoughts are with her followers…may God give them strength.”
