Nationalist Daily Dinamalar Editor Shri R Krishnamoorthy passed away on 4th March 2020 at the age of 88. Following the footsteps of his father Shri T V Rama Subbaiyer, the founder of Dinamalar, Shri Krishnamoorthy tirelessly worked to make Dinamalar, one of the leading dailies in Tamil Nadu. He has conducted vast research on currency/coins that were in circulation during the Sangham age. He has authored more than 30 books on Numismatics.
His numismatics findings played a crucial rule in Tamizh getting classical language status. Recognizing his service to Tamizh, he was awarded the ‘Tholkappiyar Award’ for the year 2012 – 2013. He has vastly contributed for the Tamizh language and also in the journalism field. He played a stellar role in creating awareness about Ayodhya Ram Jenma Bhoomi in Tamil Nadu through articles. He has immensely contributed to the upliftment of so-called Harijans. He had high regard and respect for Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). RSS North Tamilnadu Organiser Shri P M Ravikumar, State Executive Member Shri Sambamoorthy, Shri Ramakrishna Prasad, Joint State Secretary paid their homage in person to his mortal remains.
