Popular Front of India rally in Kerala’s Malappuram depicting chained men in RSS uniform
In a bid to instil fear in the minds of Hindus, radical Islamist outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) staged a rally with activists clad in the attires of Mappila rebels of 1921, shouting slogans such as Allah-o-Akbar, La ilaha illallah, in Thenhipalam town in the Malappuram district of Kerala. The highlight of the rally was chained men in RSS uniforms in the rally.
Throughout the rally, there were calls made to chain RSS members. The rally also had people dressed as British officers, chained and tied with ropes, with the other end of the rope held by people in skullcaps and lungis.
The year 2021 marks the centenary year of the 1921 Moplah riots where Islamic fundamentalists brutally massacred thousands of Hindus. The estimated Hindu deaths of the ethnic cleansing in the Moplah massacre, equivalent to somewhere around 10,000, and it is believed that as many as 100,000 Hindus were forced to leave Malappuram in the wake of the riots.
From this rally organised by PFI, it is quite evident that the Islamist outfit could carry out more such rallies to disturb communal harmony and incite hate between the two communities.
The BJP and RSS have taken serious objection to the rally and are daring the State Government to punish these parading people for spreading hate. The Left Democratic Front government has refused to give a response on the controversy, as they said they had no idea about the rally.
In another provocative show of might, PFI held a rally on February 17, followed by a large gathering of its activists in the coastal town of Ullal in Dakshina Kannada district. This event has left the police, district administration and the general public baffled at the sheer force it demonstrated, indicating a rising subscription to muscular Islamism.
SDPI murders RSS Swayamsevak in Kerala
Nandu R Krishna, an RSS Swayamsevak in Vayalar, Alappuzha, was recently murdered by members of Social Democratic Party of India, the political offshoot of Popular Front of India, at Vayalar in Kerala. Subsequently, SDPI members Abdul Khadar, Riyas, Nishad, Anas, Ansil and Sunir were arrested.
The police have arrested seven members of the Islamist outfit who were directly involved in the murder. They have confessed that at least 25 people were connected with the murder.
After Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the state-wide ‘Vijaya Yatra’ led by the BJP Kerala State President K Surendran, PFI had carried out a protest march at various places in the Southern State. In a successful operation, the UP Police nabbed two members of PFI for plotting murder of Hindu leaders on February 17. Earlier, PFI had made attempts to create communal riots in the State which the UP Government successfully foiled.
As a protest against arresting its cadres, a rally was conducted by PFI in Vayalar, where provocative slogans were raised against Hindus, RSS and UP Chief Minister. To counter this, RSS cadres had carried out a rally against the PFI’s anti-Hindu sloganeering. Following this, PFI members armed with swords attacked RSS workers. Three other Swayamsevaks sustained injuries in the PFI attack.
Following the event, the Ullal police have filed two suo-motu FIRs naming 14 persons among the organisers. The FIR has said that the organisers had not taken prior permission to hold a route march in the town disrupting traffic and disrobing public life.
The route march saw the participation of over 5,000 Muslims, many of them dressed in uniforms that are usually donned by the militia. The protesters raised anti-Hindu, anti- RSS slogans.

PFI leader Anis Ahmed, while addressing a rally in Mangalore made provocative remarks against Ram Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan. The event was organised in connection with PFI foundation day. Addressing the rally, he said, “From this stage, I am telling all of you, that all these people who are coming to your houses for collecting funds for Ram Temple, do not give them a single penny. Just boycott them the way we all boycotted the NRC (National Register for Citizens). I want to say this to all the Muslim businessman and shop owners, that if you have even the slightest of courage, do not give a single rupee to all these RSS people who are asking for donations. This is because this is not a mandir for Ram, this is an RSS mandir, and for that, not even a single brick should go from the money of Muslims.”

The “unity march”, as it was called, featured a motorcade with outriders, giving the impression that a new “armed force” was marching into the town.
Political analysts in both Kerala and South of Karnataka have termed the two incidents as ‘not isolated’; they contend that they were meant to send a nationwide signal that minorities are rising and the majority should submit to this ascendancy.
