No Respite in Covid Cases in Maharashtra, Tough Guidelines Return

With Maharashtra witnessing about 7000 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced a return of tough guidelines for the state.

Amravati district has been put under complete lockdown for one week. All schools and colleges have closed for a week in the Pune district.

To check the spread of the virus in Nashik, the administration has ordered a night curfew for a week.

The chief minister also warned for strict lockdown across the state if the numbers don’t come down in the next two weeks.

The Left ruled Kerala witnessed more than 4000 new cases Sunday. Together, these two states make up about 80 percent of the new cases in the country.

The coalition of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress are in power in Maharashtra.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has sealed more than 1300 buildings to check the Covid-19 numbers in Mumbai.

Many other zones in Maharashtra have been put under stringent guidelines.

The fear looms large it may impact the economic activity in the state.
