The controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, who inspired hundreds of Muslim youths to join ISIS, has urged the West Asian countries to put non-Muslim Indians behind the bars in case they face any charge of insulting Islam or the Prophet. In a video circulated on social media, Naik also asked them to create a database of Indians who speak against Islam so that they can be arrested as soon as they land in Islamic countries.

“Next time if they come to a gulf country, whether it’s Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Dubai or Indonesia, check if they have abused the Islam or insulted Prophet and then bring them to the task and file a case against them and put them behind the bars,” he said.

“Make it public that we have a database and do not reveal names. The moment they come, arrest them, take them to the court of law and give them punishment. Believe me, most of the people who are BJP bhakts spreading venom against Islam and Muslims will get scared,” the Islamic extremist added.

Following the CAA riots, the cadres of Islamic terrorist outfits like PFI and Jamaat-e-Islami have been on the forefront to attack non-Muslim Indians in West Asian countries like UAE, Saudi, Kuwait, Qatar, etc.

Giving an open call to the Islamic countries, Naik is furthering the agenda of Kerala-based Islamic outfits. According to reports, Jihadi migrants from Kerala have been hell-bent on targeting nationalist Indian citizens who work in West Asia for supporting the policies of the Government of India. Muslim communal elements, especially the members of the Muslim League, Jamaat-e-Islami and Popular Front of India, formed dedicated social media cells in West Asia to identify Hindu social media profiles which supported the Citizenship Amendment Act and criticised the Tablighi Jamaat for spreading COVID-19.

Interestingly, a few weeks ago, he had urged the Indian Muslims to do ‘Hijra’ to Kerala, where ‘the BJP Government doesn’t have much hold’. While answering to a question on how Indian Muslims should ‘tackle’ the BJP government, he said that Muslims who could not move out of the country could go to another state, “which is more lenient towards Muslims”.

Zakir Naik is in India’s list of most wanted fugitives. Naik has been accused of “promoting enmity and hatred between different religious groups in India through public speeches and lectures.” He is also facing charges of inciting communal disharmony and committing unlawful activities in India.

Earlier in September, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had named Zakir Naik and two Islamist preachers of Pakistan origin as accused in an FIR pertaining to a “love jihad” case. The terrorist sympathiser is now living in Malaysia.
