Kerala Commie journalists? bid to grab temple land using forged documents; case filed; Hindu Aikya Vedi stages protest

The police have filed a case against the president and secretary of the Thrissur Press Club on the complaint that the authorities of the club had tried to grab the land belonging to Vadakkunnathan temple where world famous Thrissur Pooram festival takes place, using forged documents. The police filed the case on the direction of Thrissur Chief Judicial Magistrate and included non-bailable sections in the FIR.

Meanwhile, on the direction of Kerala High Court revenue officials on October 7 carried out the survey of the land on which the Press Club had built its office and the other disputed plot in the custody of the club. It is alleged that the Press Club authorities had tried to grab the strategically-located prime land with an estimated value of Rs 10 crore.

Demanding the arrest of the accused and reclaim of the land, Hindu Aikya Vedi today (on October 9) staged a demonstration in front of the Press Club building. Hindu Aikya Vedi leaders alleged that LDF ministers hailing from the district were mounting pressure on land officials to scuttle the case.
