Senior Supreme Court Advocate Monika Arora has filed a complaint with the Consular, Passport and Visa Division of Ministry of External Affairs against Left-wing ‘historian’ William Dalrymple accusing him of interfering in India’s internal affairs. In her complaint, Advocate Monika Arora who is also the author is the acclaimed book ‘Delhi Riots 2020: The Untold Story’ has charged him with violating Visa conditions by engaging in activities interfering in India’s internal affairs. Dalrymple is a Scottish national who holds a Indian Business Visa.

“It has been observed however that Mr Dalrymple has been deliberately engaging in activities that interfere with India’s internal affairs,” alleges Monika Arora in her complaint. The complaint further says that William Dalrymple is interfering in country’s internal affairs by putting out public statements, interviews that concern India’s democratic and political processes.

Monika Arora in her complaint has also said that Dalrymple has been actively canvassing against the CAA, peddling half-truths, commenting against the Indian Government and making snide remarks against Indian citizens. Monika Arora has listed several instances where Darlymple’s statements and articles have been against India’s integrity, sovereignty and displayed a blatant bias against a democratically elected government. Dalrymple has also voiced his support to the Kashmiri separatists and has also expressed his oppostion to the abrogation of Article 370.

Monika Arora in her complaint has reminded how some foreign nationals who had taken part in the anti-CAA protests were deported. Jakob Linthendal, a German citizen studying at IIT Madras, Jenny Metty Johansson of Norway living in Kochi, and Bangladeshi national Afsara Anika Meem, who lives in Kolkata, were asked to leave the country for indulging in activities unconforiming with their Visa norms. Given Darlymple’s anti-India activities, his Visa should also be revoked and banned from entering the country again, says the complaint.

Monica Arora along with other authors had written a book on Delhi anti-Hindu riots, “Delhi Riots 2020: The Untold Story”, which the Liberal cabal put a lot of pressure and stopped it from being published through its firs publisher Bloomsbury. The publication house succumbed to the pressure and withdrew the book. The authors have accused William Dalrymple of being behind the stopping of the publication of the book. A criminal case was filed by the authors in Delhi on September 3, 2020, accusing the Bloomsbury and others of conspiracy to stop the book and also leak the PDF copy illegally. The case is under investigation.

Later, ‘Garuda Publications’ came forward and published the book which soon saw record bookings and sales.
