With the advent of Covid-19, the world has explored the technology to the highest level and made use of it in almost every field of life; education was one such area where use of technology opened the new gateways of learning. India may not have been among the first countries to use technology in the field of education but with the increasing high-speed broadband internet access and low-cost computers and mobile devices over the years, there is now internet facility in every household which paved the way for e-learning. Indeed government points to extend advanced education of the nation by bringing out favourable approaches to provide a driving force to innovation based learning and digital learning. National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 highlighted the important role of technological aspects in our education system and has given a clear roadmap to move forward. This revised policy stressed upon the fact that all students, irrespective of their place of residence, should get a quality education system, with particular focus on historically marginalized, disadvantaged, and underrepresented groups as education is the best overall leveller. Initiatives must be practiced to ensure that all students from such groups, despite having multiple hindrances, are provided platforms to enter and outshine in the educational system. There are diverse ways technology can be utilized to bring this transformation within the existing Indian education sector and have been proposed in NEP.
The fundamental principles NEP 2020 is majorly talking about are the education system at large, and the individual institutions. Within these basic principles, it focuses on the extensive use of technology in teaching and learning, removing language barriers, increasing access for Divyang students, and educational planning and management. The National Education Policy 2020 is designed keeping in mind the local and global needs of the country. There is proper inclusion of diversity and culture. Technology will be widely used to popularize diverse languages and language learning and teaching. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the languages spoken in India are the richest, most scientific, most beautiful and most expressive in the world. India’s ancient and modern literature (both prose and poetry), and even films made in vernacular languages and produced music, give both India’s identity and economic status a respectable place.
For the purposes of cultural enrichment as well as national integration, all Indians should know about the rich and vast range of languages of their country. In fact, the National Education Policy 2020 is also a way to make good use of this huge treasure of literature. In addition, technical intervention will be implemented as a guide that will help overcome any language-related barriers between teachers and students.
The National Education Policy 2020 also focuses on students with disabilities and students with special needs (who require additional support). Although it is clear that the education of children with disabilities is the responsibility of the state government, this education policy has suggested to employ technology-based solutions for the orientation of parents or care-givers. Specific tasks will include allowing children to work at their own pace and use appropriate technology to create an eco-system for proper assessment and certification, with a flexible curriculum to leverage the strengths of each child and the latest education in the classroom. There will be access to technology that will enable better learning experiences. Ultimately, it will lead to attractive and desirable results of education. In the future, one-on-one teaching, peer educators, open schooling, appropriate infrastructure, and suitable technical means will ensure effective access to education for children with disabilities or some children with special needs. In addition, the National Education Policy 2020 emphasizes on the online learning management system, through which a national repository of high-quality resources on digital infrastructure for knowledge sharing (DIKSHA) will be made available and digital libraries will also be established. The use of technology platforms such as SWAYAM / DIKSHA for online training of teachers will be encouraged, so that standardized training programs can be administered to a large number of teachers within a short period of time.
The National Education Policy 2020 values opportunity and technological development to ensure efficiency and transparency not only in education but in all functions of the State School Standards Authority. Certainly, this will drastically reduce the regulatory mandates and other administration related functions currently being borne by the schools. Overall, this policy is a comprehensive guideline for reform in many areas. It is generally believed that institutions providing agricultural education should directly benefit the local community by establishing agricultural technology parks. The knowledge of India and its diverse social, cultural, technical needs, its incomparable artistic language and knowledge traditions, and its strong ethics among the young people of India are considered important for the purposes of national pride, confidence, self-knowledge. Apart from this, the system between technical education and other subjects is also expected to improve due to the impact of technology on human efforts.
The National Education Policy 2020 is a draft to ensure that the number of initiatives required to ensure that learning environments are engaging and supportive, and enable all students to succeed
In fact, the aim of technical education is to create synergies between multidisciplinary educational institutions and programs so as to re-focus on opportunities to engage deeply with the disciplines. India should also be a leader in preparing professionals in cutting-edge fields, such as genomic studies, biotechnology, nanotechnology apart from artificial intelligence (AI), 3-D machining, big data analysis, neuroscience, health, environment and sustainable livelihoods. With important applications for which will be woven into undergraduate education to increase employability of youth and subjects like machine learning are fast gaining fame. Quality technology-based options for adult education such as apps, online courses / modules, satellite-based TV channels, online books, and ICT-equipped libraries and adult education centres, etc. through government and philanthropic initiatives and competitions will be developed. In many cases, quality adult education can be conducted online or in a mixed mode by the National Education Policy 2020. Education is the best means to achieve economic and social mobility, inclusiveness and equality. Many entrepreneurs and new companies have taken advantage of this opportunity to create innovation-based educational items for private and government schools, colleges and universities.
Strong and innovative government initiatives for adult education – in particular, to facilitate community participation and smooth and beneficial integration of technology – to accelerate this all-important objective of achieving 100% literacy as soon as possible Will be affected With providing appropriate resources and infrastructure such as quality libraries, classrooms, laboratories, technology, sports / recreation areas, student discussion venues, and dining areas, the National Education Policy 2020 focused on the fact that learning environments are attractive and supportive. The National Education Policy 2020 is a draft to ensure that the number of initiatives required to ensure that learning environments are engaging and supportive, and enable all students to succeed.
