Three-day ‘Vimarsh-2019’ by Youth United for Vision and Action (YUVA) in Delhi University

New Delhi: The three-day annual conclave ‘Vimarsh-2019’ by Youth United for Vision and Action (YUVA) was organised at the Conference Centre of Delhi University, North Campus on November 2. With ‘Awakened Bharat’ being the theme of the event, this year’s editions aimed to guide the students in the direction of Rashtra Sewa through academic and cultural discourses.

The inaugural session began with the presentation of Vimarsh’s theme by event convenor Dr Saurabh followed by session chair Dr Payal Mago, Principal of Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women delivering the talk on the cognitive and touching aspect of women empowerment. The talk-session was inaugurated by Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation director Dr Anirban Ganguly who delivered an enlightening discourse on the topic of ‘Awakened India’ in which he put forward the cultural, academic and historical aspects. Dr Neeraja Gupta, Principal of Bhawan College of Arts and Commerce, Gujarat, also shared her insights on the topic.

The parallel sessions witnessed talks on “the Saga of Indian Freedom Movement” by Prof. Raghuvendra Tanwar and Dr. Geeta Bhatt; “Dara Shikoh: A true Nationalist Mughal” by Prof. Heeraman Tiwari and Prof. DN Das; Talk on “National Register of Citizens” by Dr. Nandita Saikia, Adv. Upamanyu Hazarika and Prof. Milap Punia and “Judicial Appointments, Activism and Review: A Bermuda Triangle” by Shri Nitish Rai Parwani and Shri Siddhant Sijoria. The students were motivated through presentations like “Success Stories” and “Open Mic”.

The evening’s common session was headed by Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh Akhil Bharatiya Sampark Pramukh Prof. Aniruddha Deshpande who delivered an enlightening discourse on “Indian Education: Past, Present and Future”. He said, “In India, education has never been a medium of livelihood only but majorly for knowledge and social service.” While encouraging students he said “the destiny of the country is in the hands of the people sitting in the classrooms”. He also redefined the term ‘career’ and said ‘careerism’ is the latest ‘ism’.

The second day of the conclave featured a long list of the intellectuals including celebrated writer Sri Vijay Mohan Tiwari and editor of Organiser Shri Prafulla Ketkar. The last day kicked off with engaging students of all realms in various parallel sessions. These involved Shri Dilip Chenoy and Shri Saji Narayan CK of BMS in “Integrating Skill and Education with Labour Reforms”, Sushri Nayana Sahasrabuddhe and Dr. Anju Seth in “Rashtradhara ki Sarita: Stree”, Prof Ram Nath Jha and Dr. Pankaj Mishra in “Vaishvik Shanti me Vedon ka Mahatva” and Dr. Pallavi Bhardwaj in “Success without Stress”. The next session featured a much insightful common session that engaged students in a question-answer round on topic “Nationness in Media and Stress” with Shri KG Suresh, Shri Prakash Pant and Jeetram Bhatt. Amidst of all academic and intellectual discourses students also got to interact with celebrated radio jockey Raunac in an open interaction session that attracted all the eyes at the event.

The speech by Vishwa Hindu Parishad working president Shri Alok Kumar made the students listen to the fervent life events of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. He said that Dr Ambedkar in pre-Independence era analysed and told that for the holistic development of a big nation like Bharat, agro alone is not sufficient and industrialisation is needed. He touched the events in Ambedkar’s life that created a state of ‘unimaginability’ in the minds of the audience that BR Ambedkar experienced. He also narrated the ways in which Shri Ram performed social inclusion, involving people from the most backward sections of the society like Nishadraj, Shabri, Ahilya and Vanaras, though he was capable of invoking all his force from Ayodhya and Mithila. He made it imaginable how RSS founder Dr Hedgewar created an environment of ‘inclusiveness’ through performing ‘Sangachhadhwam Samvadadh wam’ in form of RSS.
