The BJP-Shiv Sena coalition is all set to retain power in Maharashtra. As the results have been declared for 288 assembly seats, BJP Maharashtra has won 104 seats, while ally Shiv Sena bagged 56.

Results have been declared for 279 assembly seats. BJP won 100 seats and is leading on 5 seats. Shiv Sena has bagged 57 seats. NCP and Congress won 54 seats and 43 seats respectively.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has won from Nagpur South West constituency defeating Congress Candidate Ashish Deshmukh. Among the other victorious BJP candidates are Vijaykumar Gavit from Nandurbar, Parag Shah from Ghatkopar East, Dilipkumar Patil Nilangekar from Nilanga seat, Kashiram Pawra from Shirpur and Sanjay Sawkare from Bhusawal, Mukta Tilak from Kasba Peth, Ashish Shelar from Vandre West and Suesh Bhole from Jalgaon City. Aaditya Uddhav Thackeray of Shiv Sena has won Worli seat. Former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar of NCP has retained his Baramati seat At Muktainagar seat.

BJP emerges as single largest party in Haryana

In Haryana, out of 90 assembly seats, BJP has bagged 40, Congress 31, Jannayak Janata Party 10, INLD one, Independent 7 and others one. Chief Minister Manohar Lal has won from Karnal seat while former Congress Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has won Garhi Sampla Kiloi seat.

BJP candidate Dr. Kamal Gupta has won Hisar constituency, while Pramod Kumar Vij has been declared elected from Panipat city. BJP candidate Subhash Sudha has won Thanesar seat. Dushyant Chautala of JJP has won from Uchana Kalan.

Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi after victory in the Assembly polls, Shri Narendra Modi said, when governments often lose power after five years, it is remarkable that BJP dispensations in both states have been given a fresh mandate for five years. He described the party’s performance in Haryana as unprecedented and noted that its vote share had gone up to 36 per cent in this assembly polls from 33 per cent in 2014. He has said that people of Maharashtra and Haryana have reposed their trust in Chief Ministers and asserted that they will work even harder in the next five years to serve them.

Narendra Modi said, in Maharashtra in the last 50 years, not a single Chief Minister has been able to serve for 5 consecutive years. He said, BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis successfully completed a five-year term as Chief Minister.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP President Amit Shah said, in Maharashtra, BJP-Shiv Sena is going to form the government once again with a majority. He said, in Haryana, there has been a 3 per cent increase in BJP’s vote share since the last time and BJP emerged as the largest party there. Mr Shah said, people have shown their faith in the speed with which Modi 2.0 government is working. Mr Shah also referred to various decisions of the Centre like ending special status to Jammu and Kashmir, criminalizing instant Triple Talaq and giving rights to 40 lakh residents of unauthorised colonies in Delhi, indicating that the BJP’s victory in both the states is an endorsement of these steps.

Shri Amit Shah thanked people of Haryana for making BJP the largest party and giving it a chance to serve again. He congratulated Chief Minister Manohar Lal, BJP state chief Subhash Barala and all the party workers. BJP president Amit Shah has thanked the people of Maharashtra for expressing confidence in the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance.
