A seminar on 20 years of Operation Safed Sagar was conducted by the Indian Air Force at New Delhi. The seminar commenced with inaugural address by Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa, Chief of the Air Staff. Keynote address was delivered by former Air Chief, Air Chief Marshal AY Tipnis (Retd), who spearheaded the Kargil Operations. Addressing the seminar, the Chief vividly recalled the operation wherein he had himself Commanded the squadron that participated in it. He brought out the limitations of operating at the high altitudes and how the IAF adapted to the situation to overcome the difficulties. He ended the talk by bringing out “the developments that took place after the operations and how it transformed the IAF which is now prepared to fight across the entire spectrum of warfare…….”
