UP police raid Bijnor Madrassa, seize huge cache of weapons, firearms and ammunition, arrest six including Maulvi from Bihar

In a raid conducted by Uttar Pradesh police, a huge cache of weapons including firearms and ammunitions have been recovered from a Madrassa near Sherkot in Bijnor Bijnor district of the state, reports ANI.
The police raided Darul Quran Hamidia madrassa in Bijnor Madrassa on Wednesday after receiving information that some anti-social elements frequently visit the madarsa. Six persons have been arrested in connection with the incident.
“We received info that some anti-social elements visit this madarsa. We searched the premises and recovered five pistols and several cartridges. six arrested, investigation underway,” K Kanojia, Circle Officer told agencies.
The weapons and the ammunition had been stored in medicine boxes. A white-coloured four-wheeler was also seized from the spot by the police.
According to reports, one of the accused belongs to Bihar and claims that he was a teacher at the madrassa. The madrassa has about 25 students, 14 of whom belong to Bihar. The police informed the media that they are conducting further investigations into the matter
