With Congress president Rahul Gandhi quitting his post that kicked off a mass ‘resignation drive’ in the party, a resignation letter by a student has gone viral on social media in Kerala.
Sreya S, a Standard VI student, was the ‘class leader’ but wrote to her teacher expressing her bold decision to resign from the post, citing the reason that ‘No one listens to me’! “No one listens to me. Hence I have decided to resign as the class leader,” she said in her resignation letter which was addressed to her ‘Dear teacher’ Nisha Narayanan, who posted it on her facebook page.
The letter reads:

No one listens to me. Hence I have decided to resign as the class leader.

In a Facebook post, the teacher said that she posted the letter on social media with the permission of the student. “Though her words made me laugh, I was moved by seeing her words. It summarised that other students are not listening to her, hence the resignation. But she did not bother to ‘request’. Rather, she said it was her decision. That is what I liked. Apart from the humour element, there is a genuineness and honesty in it. Besides all, she used ‘dear teacher’ to address me, instead of the oft used word ‘respected teacher’,” Smt Nisha Narayanan said.
The funny letter which went viral on Facebook, has invited appreciations from all quarters, congratulating her sincerity and integrity. “Sreya is a shining example amidst the scripted resignation drama of the Congress,” social media comments hailed the little angel.
Meanwhile, in Karnataka, 13 Congress MLAs and an Independent MLA Nagesh submitted their resignations to the Speaker on Saturday. Jyotiraditya Scindia resigned as Congress general secretary while Milind Deora resigned as Mumbai Congress chief on Sunday. More resignations are expected to come from different states in honour of Rahul Gandhi.
