Narendra Modi’s popularity has only risen with time. Recent mandate has reaffirmed that he is the most popular national figure in Indian politics today
68-year-old Narendra Modi a vibrant icon will be sworn-in as India’s 15th Prime Minister. His life is a journey full of courage, compassion and constant hard work. He became India’s prime minister in 2014, when his party won an historic landslide victory in the national general elections. He was sworn in as Prime Minister of India on May 26, 2014. Ever since he assumed office in May 2014, PM Modi has embarked on a journey of all-round and inclusive development where every Indian can realize their hopes and aspirations.
However, Modi also evokes visceral reactions across the political spectrum. PM Modi remains by far the most popular national figure in Indian politics after coming to power. He is a serious economic reformer with a real popular touch. The manner in which the BJP has established its presence demonstrates how much popular faith it has won in the past 5 years of its tenure at the centre. It shows there is no shortcut to achieve success, ”diamond shines more when it is rubbed”. In India today there are very few politicians who are given respect and Modi is one of them. He is the man who is capable of carving a line on waters.
Modi is the first PM who has popularity all over the world for his excellent and dynamic presentation making India very stable despite too much opposition and critics. He is the first administrator to prove that administration is based on development and has no space for any negativity which is against of democracy and this is the reason he got an overwhelming majority in the Lok Sabha, crossing on its own the 300 seat mark while storming back to power for the second consecutive term. BJP has received unprecedented support from all sections of society. This mandate gives Modi for another term to be the Prime Minister, he will be delivering progress everywhere in the country. This is the first time when BJP has managed to secure a majority on its own for the second consecutive term after Indira Gandhi had won in 1971. Earlier, Jawaharlal Nehru had performed that feat.
Clearly Modi has been able to persuade the people that his government is better than that of Congress, and that seems to be the sufficient condition for staying in power under the current rules of democracy in India. No politician in the past 30 years has occupied the public’s mind space as he has. 2019 election has proved how wildly popular Modi is and BJP saw a clear mandate to transform India for other five years. Mere criticism will not have desired effect if it is not substantiated. The message is very positive and people’s interest lies in progress and not in unnecessary protest and slogans. His model of good governance is being applauded across the country and beyond.
Modi is very popular with women from all strata of the society
His charisma has lifted to new heights. BJP has received unprecedented support from all sections of society. In addition, the BJP not only held on to its social base but managed to attract a large number of voters from other communities. Majority of the public loved him and his methods of improving the nation to a better place to live. His main focus is the economic and social sectors, along with the foreign interaction and new policies.
Particularly ‘Chowkidhar Chor Hai’ (The watchman is a thief) campaign carried out by Congress president Rahul Gandhi has backfired and boomeranged. The Congress and other opposition parties never learnt a lesson from the 2014 defeat and they have paid a huge price in 2019. The greatest quality in Modi is that he converted all the negatives into positives and reaped the benefits. Accepting the resounding poll victory, he has promised that he will not work with “bad intentions” and that he would like to move ahead by taking everyone along, leaving behind the bitterness witnessed during the Lok Sabha campaign.
Modi has the utmost zeal and enthusiasm to serve and help the people in need. His initial hardships of life not only taught the value of hard work but also exposed him to the avoidable sufferings of the common people. This inspired him from a very young age to immerse himself in service of people and the nation. One would find that he is a complicated man: isolated, a blend of populist, nationalist and a self-made success story. He has tried to make the country’s notoriously sluggish bureaucracy more efficient, implementing an online system to track when bureaucrats actually arrive at work. The most important quality in his is that whatever assignment or schemes for implementation he takes , he makes sure it is well completed and will always be behind that person till it is completed.
Modi has taken pains and has made commendable efforts to get a record break election where people has voted across caste, class, region and religion to unseat the Congress and bring in the BJP-led NDA government. . Every time he was given a responsibility in the party – whether at organizing a rally or an election campaign in a hostile region – he always exceeded expectation. His powerful ‘personal connect’ with the people on ground is complemented by a strong online presence.
Modi is a popular leader among the BRICS countries and G20 nations too
Modi has asserted for global peace and regional peace and India is capable and strong. According to Forbes survey Modi has raised his profile as a global leader in recent years during official visits with U.S. President Donald Trump and Xi Jinping and has also emerged as a key figure in the international effort to tackle climate change, as warming affects millions of his country’s rural citizens.
He is well known for his public speaking abilities, as he speaks, he very easily connects with his audience. His speeches are inspiring, powerful and optimistic. As people had high expectation from him and he did fulfilled them and still he is fulfilling them and may keep it on. His public speeches show us direction in which we should lead our lives and we can make our lives better. He is an all-rounder who tries to cover every aspect of development from education to health, as he believes nothing should be left when it comes to development. His way of looking at life should be followed by everyone. His life and he himself have become an inspiration for everyone. His personal honesty is unquestionable. He has an open personal life. It is an open book. He has also kept his team from any corruption and one would have find that none of his team or the officers are charged with corruption and has so far maintained corruption free government. He is able to read the mind of the people and adjust himself accordingly.
Modi has taken India’s global standing to newer heights with the world applauding his transformational leadership. He is known for his trim beard, stern demeanor, and imposing rhetorical style. There is no doubt that Modi will rejuvenate India and will make it a bright beacon to the world. He has the capacity to convert every adversity into an opportunity.
