Glorious History
Apropos (Cellular to Swaraj), Organiser, January 6, 2019, the cover story perfectly highlights the historic event of December 30, 1943 when Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose hoisted tricolour and librated three islands of the Andamans. The present renaming of those islands as Subhas, Shaheed and Swaraj by Prime Minister Shri Modi not only connects us to our glorious history, but also opens the doors for future. There is a need for increased awareness of the unique maritime position of the area in terms of geo-strategy and geo-economics. Good decision by Modi government.

Roots of Intolerance
Apropos (Address the Roots of Intolerance and Insecurity), Organiser January 6, 2019, the editorial hits the nail on the head. And rightly so! I was wondering who gave these middle eastern ignoramuses stuck in the Dark Age of barbarism and brutality and refusing to embrace ‘Change’ in the new millennium to convert me to their ‘faith’ or trying to kill me, the Kufar, in his own view of true Religion?

Colossal Negligence of British Raj
apropos (Sinister Plot, Grand Famine & Forgotten Lessons), Organiser, January 6, 2019, I was struck by the intensity and haunting memories of the Great Bengal Famine 1943. What a monumental negligence and criminality of the British Colonial masters! Winston Churchill should be tried as war criminal in The Hague, even if it means posthumously. According to both official and unofficial record of those times, this coward and his serfs were desperate to flee India, as the Japanese army was literally breathing down on Mighty Britisher’s neck in neighbouring Burma. I laughed myself off on seeing that vintage cartoon you have published.

Congress a great liability
Apropos (Congress Liability-Sajjan Kumar and Beyond), Organiser, December 30, 2018, it has been very correctly mentioned that former Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee questioned after Blue Star operation unless we address the root cause of the problem we cannot find long-lasting solution. Certainly the Congress is the root cause of promoting divisive politics which resulted in Bhindrawale phenomena. Sikh Gurus sacrificed their lives for Hindu dharma. If Master Tara Singh had not arranged exchange of population, more than 30 lakh Hindus would have been slaughtered in West Pakistan also, as happened in East Pakistan. Certainly Sikhs are a great
asset for the country, and the Congress a great liability. The Congress has damaged this nation a lot.

Unfair politics on Triple Talaq
The Centre deserves compliments on passing the reformative bill on Triple Talaq by Lok Sabha on December 27 with practical amendments ruling out all possibility of interference of non-family-members of the victim-wife when only victim or her blood-relation could file a police-complaint. Other amendments including dropping the case in case the couple compromise and Magistrate granting bail only after hearing the victim-wife were enough to get the bill passed unanimously. It is evident that opposition did not support a reformative move in interest of Muslim women that too at a time when even some Muslim countries have banned Triple Talaq. The Centre should now ban polygamy by a Muslim man for welfare of the Muslim-women.

Accidental PM
Apropos on the book by Sanjay Baru, media-advisor to the then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, has caused waves of embarrassment in Congress for obvious reasons confusing everyone in the party whether to demand ban on the film or not. Damage control exercise has begun in the Congress by giving special honour of symbolic cake cutting to Dr Manmohan Singh on Foundation Day of the party. It is noteworthy that famous Hindi film Aandhi was banned in Congress regime at the centre because of common knowledge that the film was based on the real life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
