The same CPM and Kerala Police that smuggled woman activist groups into Sabarimala, arrested three women for attempting to enter a mosque near the Sabarimala temple

Kerala Police on Monday evening took into custody three women en route to Vavar mosque, near Sabarimala. They were arrested from Kozhinjampara, Palakkad for attempting to enter the mosque, which is traditionally associated with the Sabarimala temple.

The women Revathy, Susheela Devi (from Tiruppur) and Gandhimathi (from Tirunelveli) in Tamil Nadu belong to Hindu Makkal Katchi.

Earlier, in a press conference, the women had announced that they would visit the Vavar mosque after women activists and Maoist workers were taken into Sabarimala with police protection.

“The women had announced that they would enter Vavaru mosque in retaliation for women entering at Sabarimala. Hence they were arrested in the border while trying to enter the state,” Kozhinjampara police told local media.

Alleging that they wanted to create communal tension, the police have charged the women under section 153 A of the IPC (Promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc.).

On the contrary, the same state police force acting on the orders of the Chief Minister’s Office has been trying to smuggle women activists and anarchists, belonging to the atheist and ultra-leftist outfits, to the temple only to defile the temple.

The incident has exposed the sheer hypocrisy and double standards of the CPM that has been incessantly trying to destroy the Sabarimala temple tradition, infringing upon the rights of innocent devotees.

As per tradition, the Sabarimala pilgrims visit Vavaru mosque before climbing the holy hill. But the mosque does not permit women into its premises.
