He said the Government of India and various state governments are providing a fund for their development. He pointed out that 609 tribal communities live in 2245 blocks where BDOs are responsible for their development. But practically it is seen that the governments are unable to provide sufficient grants and the benefit sanctioned for them. In this situation, the voluntary organisations play a key role in generating awareness among the people. He said merely providing education, health care programmes and economic development schemes could not promote the standard of living and cultural values of the tribal. Exposer of agriculture development in general and vegetable and flower production etc, in particular, is very essential.
Shri Kripa Prasad Singh pointed out that the Kalyan Ashram had organised a Vanvasi Mela in 2001 at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in Delhi in which 705 artisans had participated. The Mela was inaugurated by the then Dy PM Shri Lal Krishna Advani. He said the Kalyan Ashram organises National Tribal Sports Meets after every four years. The Ashram is running 20,096 sewa projects at 14,029 places. Beneficiaries of educational projects are 1,38,117 whereas 12,39,116 patients were treated during the year 2017.
