Satires in Organiser not only provided an important point of view but also  offered criticism in a unique way

Turning 70 is a major event for a magazine that has gone through many ups and downs. I vividly remember reading Organiser during my younger days which was a source of national news for us.
‘Periscope’ which was a regular column on analysing current news was one of my favourite columns. Tit-bits given in Periscope were unique and not covered by any other magazine. Periscope had exposed the possibility of a CIA-ISI nexus in the murder of Indira Gandhi in one of its issue in 1984. This was a major talking point then.
Organiser has had many national leaders as its admirers. I remember an incident in the 1960s when former editor Shri Malkani had met Rajaji. He told Malkaniji that he was a regular reader of Organiser and had commended him on his
editorials. That was the impact of Organiser. Even later, when Malkani became the editor of Motherland he was under the scanner of Indira Gandhi’s Government. Hence Malkaniji became the first person to be arrested after the imposition of the Emergency by Indira Gandhi.
Satires that appeared in Organiser were a
reader’s delight. I wish we have more of them in today’s newspapers and magazines. Satiricals in Organiser not only provided a important point of view but also provided criticism in its unique way.
I have also enjoyed reading MV Kamath’s
articles analysing current affairs in Organiser. Deendayalji’s columns which appeared under his pen name ‘Parashara’ during the 1960s had a great impact on us. His columns introducing ‘Ekatma Manavvad’ appeared in Organiser was both a source of new thinking and inspiration
for us.
Organiser is doing a great job in keeping the readers informed on all latest developments in the country. Organiser should reach more audience all over the country by increasing circulation in areas where it has not yet reached. Articles
providing more in-depth analysis of news could be published more. I wish Organiser all the best in its endeavours and wish it grows from strength to strength.    n
