This refers to the article ‘Need for A Nuanced Policy’ by Prof M D Nalapat in Organiser dated November 12.  While, by and large, I am inclined to endorse the learned author”s views and conclusions drawn by him in his thought-provoking article  I do not see any merit in his claim that both Nehru as well as Indira Gandhi carried out a Cultural Revolution in India that was even more comprehensive than that was carried out by Mao in China in the 1960s. While China under the able leadership of Chairman Mao Zedong underwent the Cultural Revolution, unprecedented in the world history, that catapulted the one-time ‘Nation of Opium Eaters’ into one of the world’s superpowers, Nehru’s policies wrought havoc to the polity in India, created problems against which the country is still struggling. Kashmir problem, problem of burgeoning population are both direct offshoots of Nehru’s  policy of minority (read Muslim) appeasement, which in the successive Congress regimes that followed had shaped up into ‘an undeclared State Policy’. Both these problems, in turn, have been
creating multiple problems for the nation. Had the care been taken to promptly correct the religion-based demographical imbalance of the Valley by providing homes to thousands of families, uprooted from Punjab and Sind consequent upon Partition of the country, there would not have been any Kashmir problem. Nehru”s cowardly policy of inertia in the face of lurking danger, is squarely responsible for yielding one-third of the Valley to Pakistan on our Western borders, and about forty thousand  square miles of Arunachal Pradesh land on the Eastern to China. Over the years that followed, the
problems continued to aggravate assuming monstrous proportions as the successive clumsy and corrupt Congress Governments at the Centre, with the possible exception that headed by  Indira Gandhi for a brief spell, were totally clueless under equally inapt leaders. They continued to toe Nehru’s line of approach, not only with regard to these monstrous problems, but in all the matters of governance of the State. Thus it was left for Modi-Government to take on these, and so many other problems of Neruvian era, headlong. The problems created by Nehru still refuse to die down.  Continually they are devouring nation”s scarce natural resources. As if that was not enough, Nehru laid the foundation of VIP
culture—a culture of vulgar pomp, show, and extravaganza—alien to the spirit and ethos of glorious ancient Indian culture and democracy, created extremely costly and wasteful democratic institutions, mere show-pieces, serving no useful purpose, established and promoted Pariwarwaadi Mughal-style dynastic rule through Congress Party by exploiting the stark ignorance and illiteracy of teeming millions of his countrymen. It’s only recently that thanks to Modi Government”s series of initiatives, monetary reformative
revolutions, such as, demonetisation and GST, that India could go a notch or two above in the comity of developing nations.  Indira Gandhi’s feeble twenty-point programme, quite predictably
fizzled out for the simple reason that no revolution can come about in a  milieu and under the conditions where society and polity have to grapple with and endure rampant corruption. Viewed in this correct perspective, the learned professor”s assertion that “Both Nehru as well as Indira Gandhi carried out a Cultural Revolution in India that was even more comprehensive than that  carried out by Mao in China in the 1960s”, looks like a big joke.

First Martyr for Human  Rights                                              

Apropos  to article ‘The Valiant Guru’ by Dr Baltej Singh Mann in Organiser dated December 3. Guru Teg Bahadur (1627-75) was the ninth Guru of the Sikhs. A delegation of the Kashmiri Pandits under the leadership of Pandit Kirpa Ram came to Anandpur and told Guruji, “Aurangzeb the Mughal Emperor asks us either to become a Muslim or be prepared to die. Kindly protect our Dharma.” Guruji replied, “Tell Aurangzeb if our Guru  becomes a Muslim we will also become Muslims.” Kashmiri Pandits told this to Aurangzeb. When Aurangzeb heard this he called Guruji  to Delhi  and told him that either to become a Muslim or be prepared to die. Guruji refused to become a Muslim. So he was imprisoned.  In his book History of Sikhs the writer Max Arthur Macauliffe has written  that  while Guruji was imprisoned he was looking towards the west. Aurangzeb asked him,  “Why are you looking towards the west?” Guruji replied,  “Good people will come soon from the west .They will end your rule and will give us the freedom to practise our own religion.”  Guruji was martyred at Chandni Chowk, Delhi at the place where Gurdwara Sis Gang is situated. His son, the tenth Guru, Gobind Singh writes about the martyrdom of Guru Ten Bahadur as follows:
Tilak Janju rakha parbh taka,Kino bado kalu ma saka
Dharm het Saka jin kia, Sis dia par sirar na dia (My father sacrificed his life for Tilak and Janju (Hindu Dharma) It is a great sacrifice in this  materialistic age. He sacrificed his life for the Dharma. He sacrificed his head but was determined to sacrifice himself to the end.) Today the Kashmiri Pandits are again in trouble. They have been displaced from their homes in the Valley and they are scattered all over India in a miserable condition as refugees. What are we doing for them? The Akali leader the late Master Tara Singh used to say, “A Sikh who is anti-Hindu is not a Sikh as  per Guru Teg Bahadur.”

Complete Overhaul Required
This refers to the article ‘The Eternal Bharat is Reinventing Itself’ in Organiser dated October 8, giving important points from Vijayadashmi speech of the RSS Sarsanghachalak, Shri Mohan Bhagwat. It throws good light on various issues of national importance, including education and social problems. There has been degeneration in moral values and increase in crime during the past seven decades of Congress rule and due to anti-Hindu and anti-dharma Constitution. Our
education system is based on Western culture and Muslim appeasement which has degraded our culture and ethics. Until and unless this system is totally replaced nothing can happen and the Hindus will keep on getting oppressed.

Big Win for India
This refers to the editorial of Organiser  titled ‘Display of Mantra Yuddha’ dated December 3. In a major diplomatic victory, one that also cements India’s growing clout on the world stage, Justice Dalveer Bhandari’s re-election to the International Court of Justice makes the win more significant, is the fact that his opponent, Christopher Greenwood of the UK, withdrew from the contest, at the proverbial last minute. India’s new assertiveness in foreign councils had paid off yet again. It will be the first time in the ICJ’s 70-year-old history that the UK, a permanent member of the Security Council, will not have a judge on the ICJ bench. Once the case of Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav had been taken up by the ICJ, it had become a matter of grave political consequence that Justice Bhandari should continue to occupy a post there. For him to do so, it was necessary for Justice Bhandari to secure a majority in both the UN General Assembly and the UN Security Council.

Rahul’s Foot in a Big Shoe
With the Congress taking a bold decision to anoint Rahul Gandhi as the party President ahead of the crucial Gujarat Assembly elections, it has gambled in putting him in the venerable league of Congress stalwarts such as Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. Surprisingly Rahul Gandhi seems to have turned a corner in the last few months. Ever since his address at Berkeley two months ago, he appears to have re-invented himself. He has mastered the art of barking and biting on social media spaces, pitting himself headlong against Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Rahul Gandhi will now have to fill the shoes of his mother who has boosted of a brilliant track record of his in managing party affairs. Will he be able to play the mediator with the same finesse as her? Only time will tell.

Injuring Hindu Sentiments
Historian Koenraad Elst and writers Francois Gautier and David Frawley have all documented the
atrocities inflicted by the Muslim Kings on the Hindus in India. Even Akbar, the Mughal King, who has been touted as secular, massacred Hindu women and children when he conquered Chittor. Having read a lot of history, I can say that there barely a Muslim King or Sultan who didn’t inflict the worst atrocities on the Hindus. As regards the story of Padmavati, Hindus, except the pseudo-secularists, accept it as true. Then why should Sanjay Leela Bhansali  injure Hindu sentiments?
