(Truth I Knew: truth I Said, April 23); Whoever has gone through the facts detailed in the article titled ‘Truth I Knew:Truth I Said’ in  Organiser  by KK Mohammed or the letter titled ‘Let’s Hope for the Best’ in the Readers’ Forum  page of Organiser dated April 16, must have become hopeful that this vexed problem, by God’s grace, would he resolved soon amicably. He would also get convinced that the struggle for Sri Ram Temple is based on faith, facts and evidence about the pre-existent temple structure and that nobody can bury historical facts for long. Besides, with the coming up of the BJP Government in the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh and a personality like  Shri Modi at the helm of affairs and the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India agreeing to sit as a negotiator with the mediators appointed by the Hindu and the Muslim plaintiffs, the hopes of the devoted Hindus are high that this problem will he resolved soon peacefully. Shri K K Mohammed, a noted archaeologist and former Regional Director (North) of Archaeological Survey of India, who was a member of the excavation team to Ayodhya headed by Dr B B Lal has convincingly discussed this issue from page 8 to 16 of the Organiser dated April 23. Therein he nicely says, “Ayodhya for a Hindu is as important as Mecca and Medina for a Muslim. A Muslim should listen to the cry of a helpless Hindus who suffers the ignominy of his temple being in Muslim custody.” Shri Mohammed, is surely a great  patriotic Muslim who have realised the pangs of  Hindu brethren. Surely you have done an in-depth study of Hindu culture which respect all faiths. Hats off to you Shri Mohammed for such an honest and objective comment.

Pitiable Condition
(Man who Dedicated Life to Social Harmony, May 21); This is with reference to the tribute to Sri Ramanuja by Rajesh Pathak in Organiser. Recently I went to Sriperumbudur 40 kms away from Chennai, the birth place of Sri Ramanuja to celebrate his 1000th birthday. I am sorry to say that though it is an ancient historical religious township it is generally dusty and cries for basic amenities for the visitors. There is dire need for good hygienic vegetarian restaurant catering to middle class population. The main bus stand is too congested and needs fine tuning in a scientific way to attract tourists in a big way. The transformation of this little township into an industrial hub since the year 2000 has really contributed in a big way to the real estate sector but in no way to the local public and the tourists in terms of basic infrastructure. I request the Tamil Nadu Government and the industrial houses situated around to work out a joint strategy to develop this township in a sacred way to commensurate the 1000 years of Sri Ramanuja.

Right Step
We must salute Major Nitin Leetul Gogoi for his strategy on saving the Army officers. We are grateful  that  Chief of the Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat, has commended him. The Armed Forces are many a times sent into conflicts with their hands tied. If they shoot the stone-pelters with rubber bullets, they are reviled as blinding are youth. The peaceniks are baying for Major Gogoi’s blood. There is a large silent that appreciates the presence of mind and dexterity with which he saved the situation. The person he tied at the front of the van was one of the stone-pelters. We salute the Chief of the Army Staff, the Indian Army and Major Gogoi whose strategy brings to mind Shivaji’s strategy of escaping from Agra.

Check Internal Pakistan
(Multi–pronged offensive called for, May 14); This refers to the article ‘Multi-pronged Offensive Called for’ by Maj Gen (Retd) Druv C Katoch in Organiser. He has very nicely discussed various options, ranging from surgical strikes, destruction of terrorist camps, elimination of terrorists leaders, capturing of posts along LoC, along with political, diplomatic, economic and social measures to chastise a rough country like Pakistan. Everybody talks about external Pakistan but why we forget that there is an internal Pakistan of 20 crore Muslims living in truncated Bharat, which is much more dangerous than external Pakistan and a biggest liability for us. This internal Pakistan has doubled its strength and has increased   from around 9 per cent in 1947 to around 18 per cent in population now. This dangerous process of increase  is  continuous, and would ultimately end in Bharat becoming a Muslim country. Only method to deal with external Pakistan is to undertake a surgical strike on internal Pakistan of 20 crore Muslims. No military action or war would be required. This surgical strike would include defranchising Muslims, ending their citizenship rights and declaring them as Pakistanis and Bangladeshis. And finally asking Pakistan and Bangladesh to accept their Muslim brothers. This would exactly be in line with what Mr Jinnah and the Muslim League had been suggesting.

Punish the Mastermind
It is strange that while the Pakistani Government considers Hafiz Saeed to be an individual who foments terror, it shies away from persecuting the Jamaat-ud-Daw’ah (JuD) chief over the 26/11
terrorist  attack in Mumbai eight years ago. Pakistan’s Interior Ministry has told a judicial review board that the Government had held Saeed captive because he was found spreading
terrorism in the name of jihad. Obviously, the JuD supremo was not resorting to
terror cloaked as a holy war within Pakistan; his playground is India. And yet, or perhaps because of that, authorities there have treated him with kid gloves. There is no other explanation for the free run Saeed has had since the 2008 Mumbai attacks, although mountains of evidence have been presented to Islamabad over the years.

Cause of Concern for All
The ongoing violence in Kashmir Valley is a cause of concern for all the Indians in general and the nationalists in particular. Controlling the jihadi youth by force or recruitment in Armed forces may not yield sustained results. The Union Government must strive to scrap Article 370 from the Constitution, which has been a commitment of the BJP too. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti must be pressured to give her consent, and a tough posture must be adopted against trouble-makers in the Valley and outside.
