This award is actually the recognition  of the work  of all the Karyakartas of the Vivekananda Kendra

Born in Wardha, Maharashtra on July 7, 1958, Nivedita Raghunath Bhide, fondly called Deediji, chose to be a Jeevanvrati (a full-time worker) of the Vivekananda Kendra in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu at the age of 19 in 1977. Presently, she is the vice-president of the Kendra. Under the guidance of Founder of the Kendra Eknath Ranade, she worked in the villages of Tamilnadu for Rural Development from 1978 to 1985. Later she became the Principal in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kanyakumari for rural children and then served as All India Secretary-Education of Vivekananda Kendra from 1993 to 2000.
Proficient in Marathi, Sanskrit, Hindi, English and Tamil, she has penned more than a dozen of books. Swami Vivekananda in America, Life and Message of Swami Vivekananda, Wake up Bharat! Enlighten the World, Eknathji- A Biographical Sketch, Geeta for Daily Life etc. are a few among them. A prominent speaker, she has delivered lectures at various prestigious institutions in India and abroad.
Speaking to Organiser, Sushree Nivedita Bhide said, “In an organisation like Vivekananda Kendra of which I am a Jeevanvrati Karyakarta, no work is personal. It is always a collective effort. And therefore just one person is not responsible for the achievements. So this award is actually the recognition of the work of all the Karyakartas of Vivekananda Kendra who are working in different and difficult parts of India. It has surely enthused all the Karyakartas of Vivekananda Kendra, I being one of them.”
