RSS Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal meeting organised in Hyderabad from October 23 to 25 discussed in detail not only the public health but also the social health. It called upon the people to effectively end caste-based discrimination, ensure women safety and work for a clean, green and healthy nation

“With 70,000 working units across the nation, the Sangh now has presence in 44,000 villages. This number is expected to surge to 75,000 by March 2017,” said RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi while addressing the mediaperson after the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal (ABKM) meeting in Hyderabad on October 25. The meeting began on October 23.
The Sarkaryavah called upon the people to curb caste-based discrimination and make society safer for women and create an environment in which women feel empowered to create their own destiny. He also urged the people at large to respond to the Prime Minister’s call for Swachh Bharat and make the nation clean, green and healthy.
Shri Joshi condemned the recent spate of brutal communal violence by radical jihadi elements and the inaction of the ruling dispensations in states like West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. The attacks are not limited on nationalist activists but the Hindu society at large is also being targeted by Jihadi elements. He urged the concerned state governments to punish the culprits.
Responding to a query on Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya Shri Joshi said: “The issue of Ram temple has been there for the last three decades. The construction is getting delayed because the issue is pending before the Supreme Court. The legal process should be expedited to pave the way for the construction of the temple as desired by the people. After the Lucknow bench assertion it”s now clear that the temple should be there only as desired.” On the issue of triple talaq, he said it is the internal matter of Muslims, discrimination based on gender is unfair, however as some women have sought judicial intervention, we hope their fears are addressed by courts. On Uniform Civil Code he remarked that law must be upheld without discrimination and without disturbing cultural traditions and social fabric.

On the question of boycott of Chinese goods, Shri Bhaiyaji remarked that not only Chinese, we must find an alternate to all forms of imported goods. Except for the ones that have no alternate, we must encourage and use Bharatiya products. This has been the stand of the Sangh from decades. Be Indian–Buy Indian. On genetically modified crops, he said the agriculture policy should not just address the short-term concerns of raising production, but must also look into issues of the overall health of the soil and the protection of farmers’ autonomy against big seed companies. Besides, the policy must be in sync with the agricultural tradition of the country. The world scientific community is divided on the gains of the GM crops. On politicisation of Surgical Strikes, he said it was national security, the Government took a strong decision and the Army bravely executed it. “RSS congratulates both the army and the government for their decisive strikes to ensure that the country is secure,” he added.
On the question of minority and majority he said: “The Constitution begins by stating “We the People of India”. The distinction between “minority-majority” does not find place in the Constitution. By twisting the meaning, we have ended up in minority-majority politics.” On the recent uproar over the boycott of Pakistani artists, he supported the producers’ decision to boycott Pakistani actors. He said while there should be no discrimination in arts, the current situation demands that we make films with our own artists. “Art is universal and so is an artist’s domain. However, when the artist refuses to respect our country, why should he or she be allowed?” he added.
He said the cow protection and Gausewa should not only be viewed from a religious point of view but we must also take into consideration that the desi-cow forms the backbone of Bharat’s rural economy. Deterioration of soil due to excessive use of pesticides can be addressed only by cow-based farming.
On social justice he said the RSS does not believe in birth based caste and caste-based discrimination. On the controversy of worshipping Sai Baba, he said Hindus perceive manifestation of divinity in the entire nature and so naturally believe that there is divinity in each human being. If followers of Sai Baba want to build a temple, it is their choice.
RSS Sah Sarkaryavah Shri V Bhagaiah briefed the media on October 23 about the opening ceremony of the Karyakari Mandal meeting. He said the ABKM meetings review the progress of the Sangh work related to various dimensions of the society. The ABKM would discuss issues related to Dharmic and cultural awareness, building family values, integrated village development and other social issues. In addition to the review of the organisational growth, ABKM would also discuss key issues concerning the Hindu society and nation. He said global economic crisis, global warming and animosity among nations is a concern for well-meaning people all over the world. They are searching for a solution for this. This year is the birth centenary of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya. He propounded the philosophy of Integral Humanism based on Bharatiya philosophical foundations. This year we would be marking the 51st year of this philosophy. Ekatma Manava Darshan gives a global view of sustainable development, sustainable consumption and humane treatment of nature.
He said to address the social issues the Sangh has conducted extensive surveys. The survey covered if all Hindus have access to common cremation ground, temple entry and access to common water bodies. Swayamsevaks are actively involved in solving these issues, wherever they come across them. For example, in Palamoor Zilla in Telangana, with the active involvement of swayamsevaks and ABVP karyakartas, the two-glasses system on the basis of caste has been removed in most of the villages. He said the Sangh is committed to ensure that the marginalised sections of the Hindu society, especially the SC/STs receive the grants that are committed to them by the government. Sangh is actively working with other organisations working for empowerment of SC/ST’s.
On second day of the meeting RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh Shri J Nandakumar briefed the media. Since the Karyakari Mandal issued a statement on the communist violence in Kerala he briefed the media on the density of that violence and the protection of the culprits by the government. He said the communist violence in Kerala has highly increased after the Left Democratic Front formed government there. The state of Kerala is going through a turbulent phase of violence based on intolerance by the CPM against groups that they perceive to be opposed to them.
He said as far as CPM is concerned, Kerala is their sole area of influence in the country. During the 60’s, they were dreaming of taking over the nation. Their famous slogan was “After Nehru, EMS !” Over the last 6 decades, CPM has lost each of their bastions including Bengal due to their anti-people stand, arrogance of their leaders, intolerance and hate politics that they followed. In spite of this, they continue to tread the same path of intolerance in Kerala.
It was in 1940’s that RSS started its work in Kerala. Initially communist approach towards Sangh was in a contemptuous manner. Slogan raised by them was that Malayalee mind will not accept Sangh ideology.  But when they found that Sangh ideology started making inroads in communist strongholds they started becoming intolerant towards Sangh also. Cadres from the communist party who were disillusioned with communism started jointing RSS.  Communist party which claimed that they stand for working class, was not able to prevent the working class from joining RSS.  As usual, they started using force to prevent the growing influence of RSS.
He pointed out that the first victim was Vadikkal Ramakrishnan, a tailor by profession, the Mukhya Shikshak of Thalassery Shakha of RSS. He was brutally murdered in broad day light on April 28,1969 while he was working in his small tailoring shop. The accused No.1 in that case was none other than the present Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan, and the accused No.2 was Raju Master who is the father-in law of Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, the present State Secretary of CPI(M).  But they were able to get an acquittal from the court on the reason of benefit of doubt because of the poor investigation of the case conducted by the local police. But the murder of Ramakrishnan couldn’t stop Sangh ideology from spreading to every nook and corner of Kerala. Swayamsevaks were able to carry the message of Sangh even in the stronghold of communist party which they claim as their “Party Village” (Party Gramam) where they will not allow others to work.  Swayamsevaks bravely resisted the terrorist style of approach of the CPI(M).
In the 80’s, a Taluka Karyavah, Mohan, was murdered by CPI(M) cadres. His daughter, Nivedita, who was then 2 year old, is now married to a RSS karyakarta. Recently, Nivedita’s home was ransacked and demolished by CPI(M) workers. They also threatened her by putting a knife on her neck and stating that she and her husband would face the same fate as  of her father had. This happened in the presence of police. The present scenario is too grave after the assumption of office by the present LDF government led by none other than Pinarayi Vijayan.
The CPM goons are showing their intolerance not only against the BJP and RSS, but also against other political parties. There are several instances of CPM unleashing violence against almost all non-CPM parties. Several incidents of bomb attacks on persons, properties and vehicles of RSS/BJP workers have been reported. Even women, children and pet animals are not spared. Crops, vehicles, houses, school buildings are also being attacked and demolished.
Commenting on the prevailing situation in Kerala, the Inspector General of Police expressed anguish and helplessness of the police machinery to tackle the extremism of the CPI(M) cadres. The RSS ABKM condemned the continuing violence of CPI(M) against RSS and other opponents. It called upon the government of Kerala as well as the Union Government to take appropriate action urgently against the perpetrators of violence and necessary measures to ensure rule of law in Kerala. The ABKM also appealed to the people at large including media to create public opinion against the violent tactics of CPI(M) by raising their voice in various fora.

Before the beginning of Karyakari Mandal Meeting on October 22, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya briefed the mediapersons of the basic nature of the Karyakari Mandal. He said RSS conducts three important national level meetings every year. In July, it has Prant Pracharaks baithaks. Before Deepavali, it has ABMK meetings. In March every year it has Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha.

He said that nearly about 400 senior RSS workers representing every province across the nation would participate. He pointed out that during the last 5 years, the RSS has about 52,000 to 55,000 Shakas running across the country. 65% of the swayamsevaks attending the daily Shakhas are students. 91% of the swayamsevaks getting training daily are below 40 years of age and remaining 9% are those above 40 years of age and performing social work. During our Prathmik Siksha Varga (7 day camps) this year, we had 1.12 lakh youth participating in them showing the high enthusiasm among youth. He said the RSS is stressing on Gram Vikas through cow-based farming, Kutumb Prabodhan (initiatives for instilling family values) and Samarasta (social harmony) in the society. From 2006 onwards, RSS has been working among various social communities to bring about social reform and there is lot of enthusiasm in the society regarding this.  An extensive survey spanning the entire country has been initiated to understand social problems and to work out solutions to eradicate any social discrimination.  RSS is organising every sect of the Hindu society so that there exists no discrimination among them. Younger generation is being attracted to RSS and we received nearly 65,000 requests online to join RSS during the last six months of this year which is 35% higher than the last year”s.
After the ABKM meeting, press conferences were organised in all the Prants where any eminent Sangh leader of the Prant briefed the media not only about the resolutions passed at the ABKM but also the local issues.
